What about those who dye their hair? And wear make-up to enhance their beauty? Or get a nose-job? Or wear hair extensions or wigs? Or wear nail-vanish? Or worse...wear high-heels to create height???????? Are they not being true to themselves???
I personally think there is nothing wrong with wearing coloured contacts. Its totally up to the individual what they want to do and what makes them comfortable. We should be happy for them. (Even though I have natural light eyes I absolutely love wearing blue contacts just for fun and they look so real! Lol.)

Eyes are the door to ones soul and wearing contact just puts a huge lock on that door, in my opinion.
Contact lens eyes for me are cold, emotionless and unnatural no matter how natural the colour is. Someone may not have a lovely light coloured eyes yet their eyes could have all sorts of character and personality and when you cover the iris, you are covering all of that. So sorry its not same as painting your nails or wearing heels...jeeez

I think they look bleh. I mean its mostly asian-pakistani girls that hog them out nowadays and I think they just cant pull them off. But, I don't care enough to go out of my way to be rude/insult people.

ya im sure fresh look came up with the whole range of colored contacts just to cater to our poor Asian pakistani lot.
I mostly see Pakistani girls wear them. You don't see other races wear them at the level of South Asians. For me it's about personal taste. Like I said earlier I couldn't really care...

as long as it doesn't make someone look "cold" as Jolie pointed out, I don't have a problem with it.
I tried hazel ones on hubby's request and while some designs worked other brands didn't......

yeah.....no.
I know a pure desi (no mixed marriages) and she has light, light blue eyes. Sure it's not common, but it's not impossible. And no, she's not Kashmiri/Pathan.

look good on some people.....I won't wear it myself though. I don't even dye my hair though I really want to sometimes...guess I like my natural hair and eye colour too much.

^ I kind of know what you mean, I would LOVE to dye my hair blonde or light brown or something but I also really really love my black hair (and I love the black hair + green or blue eyes combo)...colored contacts + light hair would be too much for me now. It worked when I was 19-20, not so much anymore.

LOL....back in college, I used to wear colored contacts. :@: I had dark grey, and dark hazel.
Just like eyeshadow/blush/lipstick colors....just like choosing a color for hair or nails.....colored contacts can also look bad if the color doesn't flatter tha person's skin tone. On average....most desis don't look good with blue contacts b/c of its undertones. As for shades of green, grey, violet etc.....again, all depends on the person's skin tone/hair color. Desi skin tones can range from very light to very dark....with all kinds of undertons (yellow, pink, olive etc). Being an NC40, obviously I'm not going to be able to pull off the same colors that a NC25 can pull off (and vice versa).
Given the countless other alterations women do to their appearance...I'm not sure why colored contacts are a big deal. Make-up, plastic surgery, tanning or lightening the skin......I don't see contacts any differently than those. I know many who were make-up (foundation, blush, eyeshadow, mascara etc.) EVERY-SINGLE-DAY. I know women who will not leave their house without make-up....even to run errands! I don't know 1 single women who will attend a wedding or other formal event displaying 100% of her "natural" beauty.
I don't see any logical reason as to why colored contacts are any different. If someone likes them and wants to wear them every day....then I don't think they're any different than the women who wear make-up everyday.

Funny, only those who wear contacts think they enhance their looks and those who dont think of them as the biggest fraud perpetuated by the cosmetics industry. Personally I have no infatuation with light colored eyes to even bother trying them. And just because some women wear 200 pounds of make up and no one says anything doesnt mean all are appreciative of their looks.
And please Arab and Persian women are probably the biggest drag queens on the face of the planet (at least the celebrities I have seen, including that Claudia chick) with their silly overly done smoky eye make up and blondish hair. Those Farnhooshays always forget their that huge honkers and light hair dont go together.
