Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
why do we worry so much about what someone else is doing?

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
exactly, very very true
everybody is entitled to his/her own life but no we can't do that!!!!!
whether its a baraat function, get together ya kuch bhi
why do we worry so much about what someone else is doing?
because 'worry is a component of love' .... arent we suppose to encourage our fellow muslim brothers n sisters to pray and wear hijab?????
Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
^ Again, its a matter of perspective. To you it may be encouraging someone to do what you think is right for them, and to someone else it could just be you not minding your own business and unnecessarily repeating what they already know.
Some people, well I guess most of the people don't like being told what is right and what is wrong. Pretty much everybody learns the difference between right and wrong while growing up, and then you have a hundred sources to learn further about the subjects you are more interested in and are inclined towards. Some people, perhaps like myself, tend to be counter-annoying and defiant. If someone tells me wearing shorts is haraam, the next thing you know I will show up at their house wearing the Borat swimsuit. The point being, it works differently for different people. Whatever one chooses to wear/follow/believe in is a personal matter. The best you can do is lead by example, that is what our prophets did, and that is what really changes minds.

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
You know what, your thread made me think that I really dont have any valid excuse. I dont pray regularly. Sometimes its just 2 times namaz, sometimes 3 and then a period comes when I pray all 5 times.
Now that I have concluded that I dont have any valid reasons, then I believe I have got my priorities wrong, perhaps because of absence of immediate punishment is the cause :(

Glad to hear it. :] I would normally say that too, that im at work, or college/uni so how can i possibly take time out to read, however i understand now that we always have time, nowadays even in the workplace, lots of employers understand and are willing to let you have that break for namaz. and even at uni. so really we have nothing to excuse.
we all have 3 hours for an indian film however...: (and then we want to ban them.....)

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
^ learn to resist, woman.
LOL It's funny how most of the people becomes all defensive. guilty much?
though I understand it's not any other persons business if u read namaz or not, I believe nadz intentions where not bad opening this thread so mayb instead of writing paragraphs and over 100+ posts defending why u don't read namaz u should think in ur own heart how to better urself or at least think b4 u write becoz ur opinions/explanations have influences on other people
Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
One doesn't "read" Namaz, but performs it.

This.
I don't see why this is such a big deal. She didn't point fingers at anyone, but just questioned a behavior. When stuff is "shoved down others' throats" much worse than this on other topics, you never see this kind of reaction, or not to this extent anyway.
well said :k:
I dont think its ME, i think anyone that mentions religion can get peoples reaction like this. most people think even reminding someone of namaz times is shoving it down someones throat, but reminding someone when a certain programme on tv is on, most people wouldnt call that forceful.

nope, it's only you... and xyz. ... online people have online grudges against online personalities... just like in real life.. :)
Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?
Its strange really. When it comes to religion, its between them and their God, everything else under the sun, is fair game.
