My question is for everyone… Why do you believe in Islam? Or why believe in any religion at all? None of it is based in fact, its all just stuff that we are asked to assume as being the truth.
Do any of you ever have doubts, that perhaps your religion is wrong or that perhaps all religins are wrong? Its seems that as science progresses and we gain more and more knowledge regarding ourselves and our world, religion seems to be wobble ever so precariously on the edge of irrelevance.
What makes you people so certain that you belong to the true religion?
So basically no long winded preaching sessions just a few reason why someone should believe in Islam..

Because of a number of reasons actually
1- It makes sense
2- It doesnt go against science
3- It encourages us to seek knowledge
4- The Quran is simply not the work of a human.

Majority of us beleive in one or other religion only by default. This is the first and last reason.
We never study, or analyze our religion bonded to us by our parents. We just read or learn it in a positive sense and accept and propagate the religious dogmas with blind eyes and heart.

islam is the way which can satisfy our spiritual needs and can amazing peace of mind....and most important thing is tht islam makes sense

i belive in weed, because
- I find satisfaction and comfort in it.
- Any danger because of it, is just limited to me, and not other ppl and community 3- It makes sense 4- It doesnt go against science

Now the question arrises, dont you people have any doubts? I mean, when you say it doesnt go against science, I wonder how the concept of a being who can be everywhere at once, can hear you even when your thinking, can be watching everything you do from some unexplained place can be accpetable in science.
So how do you continue to believe in Islam and Allah when all evidence seems to point to the contrary.

Purpose of life.
Goodness of mankind.
A reason for being.
The hope that there must be a reason.
Joy.
Sadness.
To find an answer to all the why questions.

Do you think victims of Nazism lost hope? I think maybe the survivors survived because they held hope of surviving. The belief that torture would end.

I am amazed at the thought that Hope could not exist without God.
In fact, it is very pertinent to ask if God exists in very hopeless situation (like persecution of innocent ppl (jews and Iraqis), so frequent in this world.)
What is hope? A feeling that soemthing better might happen. That is, a chance of something happening is greater than 0. People can rationalize this “chance” on a number of reasons. Some might think of God or Gods, some might think of some rational arguments like statistics, etc.
It is upto a person to rationalize “hope”, but “hope” does exist without God. There r millions of agnostics and atheists in thr world. Are u telling me that all such ppl live in asylums for incurable depression and pessimism?

I don't think today that it is necessary to believe in God's existance to have hope.
I do think that hope is something God granted mankind.
What I mean is...and is hard for me to explain.
Think about instinctive quest for survival.
Is hope just an instinct? A natural ability of survival?
Do animals hope?
I don't think they do. Maybe they do....but I am doubtful.
I think God invented hope.
You may or may not believe in God...
But IMHO.....
Was God that gave mankind ability to concieve the idea of hope.
Otherwise hope would be nothing more than an instinct.
Is love an instinct?

Hope is a learned skill. you get into trouble, think about getting out of it in various ways. You then get into another trouble, and then based on ur previous experience, and environment, think about other ways. You think/hope for change in situation, to exploit, and get of the trouble again. It is just a survival skill.
Love is also a survival skill.
u asked "Would love exist if God didn't?". Some questions r absurd, and it is one of them (with all respect to u). A better question is: "Would God exist if people hate u for no sin of ur own, like ur race or nationailty"?
OR "if God exists in very hopeless situation in which innocents r trapped".

I believe in God because I have seen signs of His existence. I have had my prayers answered in times of need. Besides that, my logical mind refuses to believe that all these creations, which exist in perfect harmony with each other, forces of nature which perfectly balance each other out, all this we see around us exists due to a "fluke" or a random chance. There is a Creator who created all this with purpose, and His command has to be followed.
