Waiting for concluding remarks, and a group hug. We could all use a little less hostility.
Bottomline, as i see it, and as others pointed out is that hatred and love from both sides of the border exist, for whatever reason. Pakistanis and Indians may have their disagreements, but at the end of the day, each should be given proper respect because when it boils down to it, we're all humans. Thus equals. No matter which land who belongs to.
Being nationalist is one thing, but to spite others in the name of nationalism should never be accepted in a civil society whose morals stem from basic human rights and love for the mankind.
There are few folks from both India and Pakistan who "dislike" each other. Some are more influencial than others, some have the know-how of the mass media, thus they use it to propagate their ideologies. But that in no way represents the feelings of the common folk. Media is often used as a tool for manipulation of the masses.
We can all live in peace with each other, and resolve the differences in a manner that is suitable to both without crossing the boundary of decency. Indian friends must adhere to the teachings of Mahatama Gandhi and win the hate with love. Pakistani friends must adhere to the role model of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and maintain a healthy relationship even in the face of chaos with the opposite. A cool minded personality matched with intellect and the willingness to have a dialogue is most likely to succeed in a diverse environment.
Lets all......just re-analyze ourselves and extend positive feelings towards each other. We can put our differences aside and let the politicians sort that out, afterall, that is why we elect them.
Great post teggy!!
People who live in this part of land have suffered not only by people from outside but from each other as well.
While outsiders brought some heratache they also brought many good things from which everyone benefitted. Some acknowledge this some don't for whatever reason.
The thread was started based on many experiences of not only mine but many others who I know, constantly noticing the strong propaganda machine pointed towards Pakistan and its citizens from across the border via any media..paper or electronic.
I think those people who think that controversies will just go away like that are living in fool's paradise. There are real issues on the ground and a sincere efforts has not been taken otherwise we would have setteled a big issue of Kashmir in 60 years. I do agree that solution may come from people themselves and not from political sector.
Pakistani people in their own country or abroad have been paying the price not only from decisions made by politicians from both sides but for the most part by people continuously working to defame Pakistani people's values and characters...simply based on Geo and Geenay Do.
Making Pakistan or its people responsible of some events actually performed by middle eastern extremists is not fair and outsiders keep using this false logic to make Pakistan or its people look bad in the media.
The thread is to show Pakistani are fed up and are vigilant of who might be taking false advantage of the situations not actually started or propagated by any Pakistani whatsoever.
There have been statements joining two words together.."Pakistan" and "terrorism"..... Its the product of evil people constantly bombarding these words together so one start believing the false and untrue association of these two very separate words.
Blaming Pakistan or all its people just because they are majority muslims and actually spending more time in trying to keep the distance from foreign elements having too much influence in far away remote free areas is unfair and cannot be tolerated by any Pakistani forever.
Its time we acknowledge and continue to acknowledge Pakistan's and its people's constant efforts to root out any extremism trying to make its way to the heartland.
The contribution of Pakistani people or decendants of Pakistan abroad is overwhelmingly great in many fronts. They are open minded and welcoming. But they also need to be aware and take charge on people who might be trying to defame their good contributions to the world and humanity at large.
There is no interest in Pakistan to make India/Hindustan destabilised but it should not let anyone destabilised itself also.
Politicians from each side of border will do things good or bad but it really hurts both countries when general people start blaming prematurely without any proof.
Cerainly Pakistani have shown great resolve in this matter and will not sleep over any irresponsible comments or blame for anything bad happens anywhere in any part of this world.
