Apparently, even the ones that do study are at a disadvantage.
In 2007 the Indian University Grants Commission and the City University of New York recently did a joint study…they went through a number of Indian English-language newspapers and selected over 500 job advertisements for entry level positions in the private sector. They then prepared 5000 identical resumes…1/3 with typically Brahmin names, 1/3 with typically Dalit names, and 1/3 with typically Muslim names…and submitted them to the companies…then recorded how many applicants from each community were called back for an interview.
The results? The Brahmins were three times more likely to get an interview than the equally qualified Muslim. And the untouchables? Still two times more likely to get an interview than the Muslims.
Only 4% of Indian Muslims attend madaaris, and yet anytime the issue of the pathetic state of Indian Muslims is brought up, people parrot the same myth.
