i was just wondering why is Dr. Amir Liaquat bashed in this forum. I read severel posts in this section and people are calling him hypocrite and other stuff. I saw his show a several times and he seems very knowledgeable.
I don’t want anyone bashing him, but i just want to know why???

i feel that it's more like a trend then people's actual feeling. if everyone is praising this one person, someone would just feel like coming out and criticizing on non scenes. just to be different "maza lainay kay liyeh".
and these day's people's most fav. thing to call these famous male celebrities "gay". you will say two good things about a person, and next one will def. tell you that he is actually "gay" just to spice things up.
i am saying this just because someone recently called amir liyaqat hussain gay in this forum. and i think it was just totally ridiculous.
amir liyaqat hussain was a guest in good morning pakistan, and he said something which touch my heart. He said that it is "shirk" to say things about people based on your own assumptions rather than the actual facts. because only ALLAHTALA knows what goes on in a person's mind and his/her true self. when we say things like, oh he is a "hypocrite" "dikhawa karta hai" we don't really know that, we just say that, but only ALLAHTALA knows if a person is a hypocrite or not.
multiple reasons:
1) he belongs/belonged to Muttahida Qaatil Movement. I have no desire to listen to lectures of any kind from a Muttahida Qaatil Movement terrorist. it's like a Hugh Hefner lecturing people on celibacy. I'm sorry it doesn't work. MQM walas are barely human beings in my book - forget about heaven-bound, pious Muslims.
2) I have no desire to listen to religious bakbak from any kind of moulvi. there's no way in hell I'm going to listen to a thug lecture me about how I should live my life. I can figure out my life myself.
3) his Urdu is awful. his whole shtick is fake and way too flowery. be a man. talk like a normal person. he tried to get on PTV many times back in the day. but PTV had high standards and the dumbass couldn't get on.
4) his educational credentials are partially or possibly completely fake. he bought his PhD from the internet like Babar Awaan. now he claims he is a medical doctor as well. God knows if he bought that one too.
5) he has no background to be lecturing people on religion. he spread half-truths and outright lies. a lot of verbal diarrhea that he spews is just unbelievable. his latest bakwaas was that the Pak team didn't win because part of their shoes are green in color. and green is an Islamic color. therefore, Islam is insulted by their shoes and the team can't win since they insult Islam.
I don't even know how to explain how unbelievably RETARDED that is. I mean ffs it's 2010. grow a fking brain. if the team is being punished for wearing green shoes, then what about Aussies, Saffies, etc? they're not Muslims. yet they pound every team they play. why doesn't God punish them for being non-Muslims?

and he lacks basic tameez... if he's such a badass gangsta Muslim, then surely he must have learned some tameez somewhere? the way he talked about Imran in the national assembly showed his real auqaat and background.
ppl will disagree with Imran on political issues... but Imran remains one of the most beloved sons of the soil. and the vast majority of Pakistanis don't want to see the great man abused by anyone - and especially not by a third class MQM cockroach like daaaaaktar Aamir Liaqat Hussain.
wonder where daaaktar sahib's Islam went when he hurled all kinds of uncivilized accusations against Imran. this is what I love about these religious types. when they need it, they invoke Islam and use it to beat their opponents down. when they can't use it to their advantage, then they show their true auqaat.

I agree with the bolded parts. I find him OTT. Some of the stories he covers are good, but it seems like he's into acting. I don't mind a religious show, some people have to ultimately rely on a TV show to gain exposure to religion instead of opening up the Quran... but in his show, it's hard to get past the way he speaks. Why is he still called Dr.?

People make mistakes, lekin agar woh badal jaeiN, tau unko doossra mauqa milna chahiye. ALLAH (SWT) doosra mauqa dete haiN. So why are we so stuck with this old image of him?

i have listened him twice in a mosque in PECHS where he gave sermon at a milad about shan e risalat .............. and it was amazing .......

though i believe that one should not form an opinion when you dont know the person BUT when people come on TV and share their weird n ridiculous views with rest of the world then there is no harm in forming an opinion about that person based on his view....
now coming towards amir liaquat....he has shown his extremely ridiculous views about various topics which not a sane person can digest....e.g. when salman rushdie's book came out and everyone in pakistan was angered at the content etc and you know how things are in Pakistan....they make caricatures in Denmark, people burn mulk ki property as in protest...so this guy comes on National TV and declares openly that Rushdie must be killed for writing this blasphemous book...now the question arises....why would a sane aalim/scholar provoke people to kill Rushdie, knowing the fact that people in Pakistan are extremely emotional and they can do anything in the name of islam.....since rushdie was out of reach so they could have harmed someone else to get the revenge....like a bomb blast at a foreign embassy etc....you dont make hate speeches while sitting on a national TV....HE SURE IS A FAKE

^ you would think Geo TV would be more careful and tell him to not promote violence or hate. when people are overly emotional, especially during desperate times or times of crisis, they can listen to this Alim and get carried away, performing negative acts.
i didn't watch his show, but the other day i was flipping through the channels and i saw that dr. amir liaqat was wearing a very intricate kaamwala kameez.

I have a lot of respect for this dude. What I like is how he provides different viewpoints. He usually has learned and recognized Sunni and Shia scholars on his show, so it isn’t just him pulling things out of the air.
I watch his show regularly … I haven’t seen him promote and encourage murder. 
He also discusses controversial topics that people would rather keep hush hush … which is why a lot of ppl dislike him. Like the corruption of the landowners and how violent they are towards women. I remember the episode where he went to the gravesite that was ‘forbidden’ in the middle of the night cause if he went during the day, he would have been shot or attacked by the very powerful landowners.

^ yes thats what i like about his show too, he has talked about very taboo social topics like karo kari, abuse of elderly parents, gossip and even child molestation in the light of our religion. he has made some mistakes in the past by getting a little political, which caused some backlash but overall its a great concept, he made religion open to discussion in a very educational setting, nobody was falling asleep thru it like the past religious lectures which were a tv trademark since forever.

People dislike him coz he is Aasteen ka saanp. I saw one of his videos on youtube in which he was giving abuses to Sahaba-e-karam. He belongs to shia Family and Shias are against Sahab-e-karam.
