Generalization such as the ones you’ve listed indicate a preference for gori women but not necessarily a hatred for Pakistani women. And a very decided hatred that refuses to budge is not healthy.

None of us here are above making stereotypes/generalization about various groups of people even though we may have not expressed them on GS. All of us are aware of both the positive and negative tendencies in our culture. For example, we know that our culture is generally lax with time/punctuality. A positive generalization would be that we tend to be a hospitable culture. It becomes a problem when your mind is not even open to acknowledging the good characteristics that exist. In lectures, scholars advise that the best way to negate the the poor image that Muslims have is to act in a way that contradicts the stereotypes rather than confirm them. That said, for people who are already biased against a race, they are likely to harden even more if we respond in accordance to their perceptions/expectations of us. We don’t realize (and this includes me) that our pattern of actions not only lead to development of stereotypes about our race/religion/etc…but that they also lead to assumptions about things on a much a smaller scale such as our family and upbringing etc. I am not defending Candy’s comments; I don’t agree with her posts…but this is another perspective to look at the issue from.

I think everyone is flipping out for no reason. So candy is angry at the gents from her motherland. Ok. Great. Let’s move on and continue living. If the gents from the motherland are indeed good people, instead of keechar uchaaling on her and other women here, they will say ok, candy apple, best of luck, hope whoever you find is good to you, and sorry to hear you’re jaded with our people, ok, have a good day! bye bye!

Oh if only, people were more open minded. Some people flip out over Pakistani men, because of what they’ve seen and read. I don’t blame them. The stats are unfortunately putting Pakistani men in the red.

Yes, there are good people out there. Lots of men who are good. But open the TV channel man, I wonder which Pakistanis are left that are good these days.
