^ pant and shirt is worn by chinese, koreans, europeans, australians, sri lankans etc. but abaya is a trademark of arabs. thus, i cannot be accused of being a poser of anyone as pant and shirt is a universal clothing. however, any muslim girl who is so infatuated with arabs and wears an abaya can (and in most cases rightly so) be accused of 'poserism'.

Oh there's plenty wrong with wearing something that the Taliban forcibly imposed on women in Afghanistan.

Surely if they want to wear a burka so badly that they can get themselves a one way plane ticket to Peshawar. Why come to the West and pollute the environment with such backward garb?

The fact that they wear the burka means that they are making a statement that endorses al-Qaeda and the brutality of the Taliban, and you know it.

So yes, there is SOMETHING wrong with a woman or two wearing a burka in the West.

Seems like you're the one who's picking and choosing ayahs and ahadith. Sorry to say but you have very little knowledge about Islam. Please read about hijab in Quran and ahadith.

Educated muslims know that hijab and growing beard is an order from Allah and His messenger(SAW) and they will get reward for doing so.

Because many of them want to be like Arabs and will do anything to lick the boots of their Wahhabi Arab masters.

Our Prophet Muhammad(SAW) was an Arab, I'd love to be like him and Arab Sahabiyat. You can follow anyone you like.

Yes, here is the Muhammad Asad’s translation:

59. O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters, as well as all [other] believing women, that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public]: this will be more con­ducive to their being recognized [as decent women] and not annoyed. [Cf. the first two sentences of 24: 31 and the corresponding notes.] But [withal,] God is indeed much- forgiving, a dispenser of grace!
    [The specific, time-bound formulation of the above verse (evident in the reference to the wives and daughters of the Prophet), as well as the deliberate vagueness of the recommendation that women “should draw upon themselves some of their outer garments min jalabibihinna)” when in public, makes it clear that this verse was not meant to be an injunction (hukm) in the general, timeless sense of this term but, rather, a moral guideline to be observed against the ever-changing background of time and social environment. This finding is reinforced by the concluding reference to God’s forgiveness and grace.]

May be you can also find explanation of this ayah by Muhammad asad.

Surah Nur(31. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts and not to show off their adornment except that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over their Juyub and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their women, or their right hand possessions, or the Tabi`in among men who do not have desire, or children who are not aware of the nakedness of women. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.)

If a woman's life in threat bcoz of hijab or niqab then she's allowed to take it off but my point is that Jilbab(outer covering)(cloack) is not related to only Arabs, its an Islamic thing which Quran has interduced to us.

Prophet Muhammad(SAW) was Prophet and the ayah that is in the Quran about marrying four times is not for him but for his Ummah. Not all but some scholars say that first wife's permission is incumbent.

Islam also gives the right to woman to write down conditions in nikahnama.....if she or her wali writes that her husband can't get marry again without her permission as a condition and if her husband gets married again without her permission than that(2nd) nikah will be unvalid.

For women that are covering...abaya is just the easiest thing to wear...you simply throw it over your clothes and walk out the door and everything is covered and curves are not showing...no changing of the clothes required.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe paki women wear it for convenience and to assure full coverage and not to copy arabs?

Have you ever seen a pakistani hijaban wear a loose fitting shalwar kameez in such a way that her curves dont show? I know I havent. A shalwar kameez that is loose fitting would look awful in my opinion. Anyway...if go with you logic I could very well say that pakistani's are copying indians/hindus. OOOOO i bet that hit a nerve! :D

I know that women can take khullah but giving divorce is unlikely.
