Why do muslim guys do this?

Re: Why do muslim guys do this?

So talking to and hugging other girls wont ever make a non-muslim girl think a guy is trying to flirt with them, but simply saying Hi or Salam will automatically make a muslim girl think a guy is flirting with her? sigh Even if a muslim girl did for some odd reason, think that, then she wont think it for long when all he ever does is say Salam and nothing else. As there wont be any evidence otherwise.

Re: Why do muslim guys do this?

Just wanted to give an update for those who asked me to do this.

Today I asked one of the muslim guys why some of the muslim guys dont really talk to the muslim girls.

He said that he doesnt know about other guys, but for him, he doesnt talk to muslim girls because he feels that if he even jokes around with them, they will take everything the wrong way. So basically, hes afraid that a muslim girl will think he is flirting with them, when he really isnt. He said the non-muslim girls dont always take the hugging and friendliness as flirting or being hit-on. He actually said hes since stopped being so friendly with any girls, because he feels that people gossip a lot no matter which girl you talk to.

He also stated that muslim girls probably wouldnt like to be talked to/joked with, the way these guys can talk to non-muslim girls. I got the impression that he was saying he tries to treat the muslim girls more respectfully.

Just telling you what he said to me. Thanks to everyone for your input and suggestions in this thread. I was kind of afraid to ask him, but thought I'd give it a try. That was scaryyyy. I was afraid he might get offended. hehe

Re: Why do muslim guys do this?

Hugging and stuff is a bit going over the edge but definitely I would be inclined to talk more with a non-muslim girl than a muslim one (especially hijabi).

The argument of hijabi girls being quite aside, I think the ^^ guy is right in the fact that there is a taboo of guys talking with girls in muslim culture but I don't know if it should matter that much to ABCDs, BBCDs, or CBCDs that much..
