whenever these uncles visit karachi, ALL the exits on shahrah-e-faisal into the service lanes near my office are blocked
this happens atleast once every few months
i have to park my car miles away
walk in the SWELTERING HEAT
reach office WET in SWEAT
its just LAME
WHY…? why all this extra security? who started this? and why doesnt this stupid tradition stop?
this is just so wrong…a total pain

Personally, I think if they are so concerned about security, then they should use helecopters to move from the Airport to whereever in the city they are planning to go. Making life of ordinary citizens so miserable is not good. You atleast have a car and your complaint is primarily to walk to office some extra miles. This is bad enough. What is worse is when ambulances are not allowed to pass through or terminally ill or injured people die on the street, because a VVIP will go through that street in 2 hours time. That is horrible.

Security is needed to stop things that can blow up getting near them.

abt musharaf security,after many attacks,offcourse it was a formal step...
shahrah faisal fish market ka manzar day rahi hoti hai jo traffic block ho yeh koi vip aya ho...

btw I do recall roads being closed off when nawaz or Benazir were travelling either, and no one really even tried to blow their cars up from what I remember.
