why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

it embitters me to hear fellow Pakistani students and or colleagues and acquaintances, our age ( 20s - 35s), who feel, say and think that the subcontinent should have not been divided & that Pakistan should have remained a part of India, so should Azad Kashmir.

one said, religion should never be the basis for creating a state. it becomes a failed state like Israel and Pakistan.
another said, when 2 million muslims are still in india, why create a state for 1 million and have them migrate 50 years ago?
and many think that there is never going to be a strong Pakistan, due to bad leadership. why bother?
it hurts to see this be stated and felt and thought by fellow males.
do u think so, too? any valid reasons?

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

In my opinion; the formation of Pakistan was the smartest thing the subcontinent leaders have done. Muslims needed a separate state so they could get away from the “budparisti” of many of the people of India. If Pakistan hadn’t been created, there would have been many more bomb blasts and other such incidents in the united country.

Pakistan Zindabad :jhanda:

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

that is good to hear, Anil, that u feel that Pakistan was created to avoid more tensions. but look at the volume of killing and terror that non muslims emit against muslims. and when they retaliate, they are blamed for all.

we should take owner ship of both the good and the bad as a nation, and do our best to eradicate the bad and live by all that is good.

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

i was talking to 'the voice'. he had a lot to say about this. if i can jog my memory..some of the reasons that he gave were...that pakistan would've been better off, had it never been created..because india has economic stability, and even though pakistan was founded for religious freedom...hindu/christian pakistanis are scared to declare their religions, and you can never leave your house..for the fear that you will be bombed/shot in the mosque.

bilal..get in here and clarify!

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

Dushwari people used to say all this in frustration. categorically, not a single one of us consider saperation a mistake.

Long live pakistan :jhanda:

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

sorry, Pink carnation,
but it is not the truth.
we also fear as muslims our survival here in states or in uk.
our religion has become our limitation as well..
but, it happens to every one who is a minority.
my argument here is:
when u do an unvonventional thing - like fight for a whole country's separation... based on ideological differences, u do a brave thing.
hearing stories from my grand parents, from the time of partition, has cleared up many, many concepts.
which are just so complex, that we cannot comprehend, without looking into them, in depth.
for that matter, 2 brothers and their families, living under the same roof, can fight the hell out of each other.
it does not mean, that they compromise on every wrong expectation, but there are ways to reconcile.
a nation state is a blessing,as there is freedom in it.
it is our bad luck, that every time, we get a leadership, that is a self serving mess or really becomes a prey to the out side conspiracies.
but, still, Pakistan is ours, no body buut we have to tend to it, make it stable and stand out as a strong soverign nation of a beautiful country.
i think so..

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

i have heard this from no pakistani female muslims yet, and i hope i do not hear it from them. :>

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

Pakistan was not a mistake. Many muslims died in the process and our people made great sacifices to get Pakistan. It is better to be ruled by a fellow Muslim than a hindu or a sikh. We would have been second class citizens in our own country.

Do not take any notice of these enemies within. I generally find that the ones that benefitted the most from pakistan are the ones that are most vocal against Pakistan, how Ironic is that?

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

most Pakistani men think that? I am the only man in Pakistan who thinks that because I think 2 nation was non-sense and it failed after the creation of Bengladesh.Muslims and Hindus have lived alongside eachother in India for centuries in relative calm and peace,2 nation theory failed to point out to any incidents where muslims were disciminated against by hindus in India prior to 1947.It just tells you that muslims and hindus are completely different people who can not live as neighbors.

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

theek khe rayeye ho aap.

i concur with it what u said, facts.

i just hope that our expatriots DO NOT find it tempting to resort to bad mounthing their own country, for what ever reasons.
it gives the vultures more chance to pulverize the existence of a separate muslim state.

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

know from people in indian pubjab, and kashmire, what horrible treatement they have as a minority in india.

when anyone is opressed, walking away is the right thing to do.

ideologically, and practically, staying independent is and was crucial.

in fact i would say that it actua;lly helped later on to become neighboring states - as the dynamics of the relation shifted.

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

I think the creation of Pakistan cost more than it's worth. Too many people have died and Pakistan still has not fulfilled it's purpose. A better option would have been to create some sort of autonomous region within India for muslim majority states and to return the NWFP and Balochistan back to Afghanistan. Till this day, partition is not complete and we have kept ourselves back by wasting time on petty differences created out of our own insecurities and complexes. In reality, Pakistanis love Indians and vice versa.

However, there is no point in crying over spilt milk. I love Pakistan. I Love Pakistanis. I love Being Pakistani. God Bless Pakistan!

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

it is mostly our pakistani girls who r under influence of ibollywood crap and cuz of that today we i loosing our identity as a separate country:halo: …so ur finger pointing at man is harsh and unfair:) …

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

A persons capability doesn't depends on a religion, whatever religion he/she may be the ruler should be smart enough to rule the country and should drive the country towards development

Re: why do most Pakistani men think Pakistan and India should not have separated?

Pakistan is a failed state. The founding fathers had the right idea when they formed this country but unfortunately our pathetic, spineless, selfish and corrupt leaders ruined everything that they worked so hard for.
