Its not the matter which is better FOB & Parents relationship or ABCD & Parents relationship.
Sometimes there are more than 1 right path to do things and norms of the society dictates which path to follow. It has nothing to do with honesty.
Just like dressing, living, eating and other things differ greatly, relationship dynamics also differ greatly b/w East & West. It would be lame calling each other dishonest or begharat.

I just did. My attitude towards my dad would be a lot different if weren't so dependent on him. Financial dependence is a big reason for kids putting up with unreasonable parents.

If finances are the only reason you are putting up with your parents than you have bigger issues than your "unreasonable" parents.

Spot on - there can be and there is more then one right way of doing things. Heck each family functions differently so how can we expect families from two opposite ends of the world to be the same.

Hmm. I didn't say my parents were unreasonable. I meant unreasonable parents in general. But yeah I don't really argue with with dad(or have to be very careful when I do) cause he can end it with. "So do you want to continue school or not."(Financial dependence)
