The "liberal" brigade is MMA-phobic b/c they know their days of non-halal fun will be over when we have a true Islamic government or atleast they won't be able to carry out their corrupt practices openly like they are doing now and have done in the past under secular ideology governments of PML/PPP.

Probably does happen in MQM madressa's sadly... But then I wouldnt know since IM NOT PART OF THE MQM!!! But from what I have heard it seems to happen in quite a large number of madressa's all across Pak.
And I admit I have a problem with Islam. My biggest problem with it is that its vague and open to interpretation.
My problem with MQM is that it is obsessed with forcing their interpretaton on everyone else regardless of what they have to do or who they have to hurt to do it..

Reza and PP1, I am not saying that MMA is a perfect party. They’re corrupt and hypocrite leaders in every party. So your generalization of all Mullahs or MMA leaders is nothing but your symptoms of mullah phobia.

I can only say this much.. Im willing to accept them as long as they do something concrete… If they can get the economy of the ground and make the lives of the comman man better, then more power to them… So far all they have done is play politics and try to enforce questionable Islamic policy…

For the record, I am in no way a secularlist. I just believe that Muslims would be better served if we had religious leaders who we could truly look upto, and who preach tolerance and unity, rather than what we have today.

Thats never going to happen so long as we have Relgious leaders who get involved in Politics. Power corrupts them. Some day we have to realize that when you mix Islam and state, then both end being losers.
The role of religous leaders is to provide spiritual guidance not political guidance… The MMA can do a lot better for itself and Islam if it focused on Islam and not politics.

I agree with you here.
Reza Pahlavi there are mixed opinions in MMA. There are some people who do sometimes preach hatred, but there are many many who do tread the moderate path as prescribed by Islam. Also, tolerance to sin is not tolerance but another sin, tolerance also has its limits.
Mirza_Sahib come back in the thread. Ignore the senseless remarks, they only go to say something about the person who speaks them, not about you. You had some good points to share here so come back, we need you in this discussion.
