Just adding up a couple of more things to my previous posts…
Personally, I don’t really care about their big, loud, and bad mouth… and I care even less about their show off (for God know what) attitude…. cuz with me they can easily get a louder piece of my mind in return. It’s their parents I feel sorry for… most of these kiddos are a mere example of double standards….
Socially they follow whatever is more favorable to them… as being an “American” they will tell you right in your face if they don’t like anything, or if they don’t want to do something, and Oh they hate restrictions. Yet at the same time they are okay with being pampered and fed by their desi parents until they get married…and they truly love this wow aspect of Pakistani culture…..
I mean why don’t these opportunists move out, or share with household groceries, chores, and rent/mortgage, just like a usual American kid does. Paying for their college tuition or taking care of their wedding expenses will also be a big favor for their not-some-millionaire type desi parents.
Get one sided folks and stop playing on both fields.:)

Can't say abt Pakistan much but as for India.........In recent times, I have seen teens in the metros in India are way way much cooler/modern/crazy than the conservative desi teens in the US. Its like in the US, we have seen the worst of it during the 80's when teenagers were at record high involved with drug abuse/pregnancy and now we are trying to learn from it. India on the other hand is heading for what US was in the 80's. High school grads get a start of Rs 15000-20000 jobs and they have no other expense other than partying at pubs and discos. In the last ten years, the metro teens in India have grown crazy exponential, and in US the desi parents have atleast groomed their kids for the better. I am damn sure that in the next five years it will be more easier to bring up your decent kids in US rather than in Indian Metros.

I live with 3 ABCD’s they are my kids. I have dozens of ABCD nieces and nephews. I interact with hundreds of ABCD kids because I have hundreds of desi friends. Based on my personal experience. These ABCD do not think that desies back home are paindo because they do not even have that concept about pind as people living there have. The ABCD’s are cool they do not have any negative or positive views about personal traits of desies in desh.These ABCD’s do not judge people of desh. I have never ever heard them bashing desies of desh. They have lots of grievances against FOB’s but not people of desh. On the contrary they think that the people from desh are in havens. Their perception is based on the short visits they get to have during summer. Everybody can speak fluent desi language of that part of the world. They can get halal burgers from McDonald’s, halal KFC , halal Pizza Hut . The shadies they attend over their are so cool and colorful. These ABCD’s actually wonder what more do you want from life ?
These ABCD’s are treated as royalty by their desi hosts as they are guest out there. Everybody is so impressed with them and thinks high of them.I think this treatment of ABCD’s is not liked by those who observe all this from a distance or they do not get this same treatment because they are ‘Ghar key Murghy Dall Barabur’ . Man it is not fault of these ABCD’s if they get this royal treatment , they did no ask for it. Actually when they come back to USA they miss all that and cannot wait to go back to desh to have taste of that haven called desh.
