I grew up and continue to grow up (in age) in Pakistan but I don’t have negative view of desis raised in the West. I don't think you people belong to a monolithic group who think and act alike. Even reading your posts one can see that you have different personalities, loyalties, likes and dislikes in spite of your similarities. But at the same time, in many ways, many of you don’t look very different from desis ‘back home’. (I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.) Most desis I have met or interacted with were too busy trying to live or survive their own lives to form informed opinions about the desis abroad.
