Why do desi women spend half their lifetime talking about others?

Why is this stereotype only confined to Desi women? It’s quite common in women of other races as well. Yeah, people will talk about their interactions/experiences with others during socialization…because these interactions and their affects from a huge chunk of our lives.

Yeah it’s one thing to gossip/backbite (and there are exceptions to this issue as well)…but generally speaking…people will spend some of their time “talking about others”…whether that “talking” is positive or negative is another issue.

Redvelvet, if you are desi. Would you talk about goris? If you are a desi on a desi forum, would you talk about goris? Obviously it is regarding desi women because it is what I wish to discuss.

I dont give a damn about the “talking” bit. I give a damn about when someone talks false about someone else, they backbite, spread rumours and hurt the person’s reputation and self esteem and humiliate the person so much that they are not able to return to being normal. These stupid aunties and gals who are so farigh and do backbiting just love to ruin a person’s life.
