^ LOL. Most parents I've seen...have cried when their daughters get married. Sometimes brothers can get a little teary-eyed too. It's an emotional time. So...any guys here shed tears at their sisters' wedding? Or feel like....they ahem ahem caught something in their eye. Or who knows? Maybe they're thinking good riddance. LOL :)
I didn't cry at all (at least not in public). I did cry for too many nights afterwards when I thought he was sleeping, because I kept thinking of Ammi and Papa by themselves, but in front of someone else... Never!
So many girls think they are in some danger.
I am pretty sure a thread was opened on “that topic” some days ago. But I can’t find that thread now. what became of that thread? I thought that was gonna be an interesting one :halo:
You know that scene in “father of the bride” with steve martin, when the girl plays basketball in the middle of the night before her wedding, and her dad joins her and it starts snowing? That’s why people cry at weddings- leaving childhood and carefree times behind, the comfort of parents, and even if your family is still there, it’s just not the same and you feel emotional- not sad, not happy, just nostalgic and emotional :`)
Don’t know how to embed the video, but here’s the link on youtube:
And brides probably don’t cry as much these days because they’ve been living on their own for a while and that familial connection is not as ever present as it is when one is living at home. Also brides are getting married at later ages, so its not as emotional as a transformation as it is if you’re in your teens or early 20’s

well if you had to sit for hours on end with your face covered in so much makeup & gold, that your face is being ripped from you skull, watching everybody else dancing while your ass feels like its gonna fall of, then maybe you’d cry a little too…
