Why did India vote against Iran?

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

Iran was so upset with India,s vote that they immediately issued a statement that all the deals with India are still on and they are cancelling nothing. Gasline is a big advantage for them as it is for India (and Pakistan). So all you guys are so upset for Iran when they themselves don't seem to be. being more catholic than Pope?

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

No it is not. Believe what you want to soothe your battered reputation, but Pakistan did not vote against Iran, it was India did that. The Iranian President especially lauded Pakistan’s support for it’s right to have nuclear power, while they have publicly shown how displeased they are with India’s actions.

The Iranian’s call Pakistan to thank it for giving them support, while they summon Indian diplomats and minsters to give them a dressing down. Big difference.

Long Live Iran-Pakistan dosti. :k: :k:

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

they abstained it shows they are may change the position later.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

Pakistan is not with Bharatis! Agreed!

However Pakistan stands by the West. for sure!

The current situation with Iranian MAToos is similar to the problem with Talibob MAToos. Post 9-11, Bharatis jumped up and down and offered their bases in the hopes of one-upping Pakistan. Poor fellas forgot that geography dictates the deals and not just the “enthusiasm”.

Once again, West would need Pakistan’s help to put squeeze on Iranian MAToos. While Bharat will cry “Look at me Look at me, I am here I am here”

India’s Shameful Vote Against Iran*

Al-Jazeerah, September 29, 2005

India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have to take full responsibility for blackening his country’s face in front of the whole non-aligned world, over his government’s most perfidious about-turn in succumbing to the US pressure of open and blatant blackmail and voting against Iran in International Atomic Energy Agency’s September 24 meeting at Vienna.

India’s vote, even an abstaining one, would have been almost a symbol of defiance by the rest of the world to America’s relentless aggressive planning to invade and take over weak and indefensible countries in the third world by sheer use of its armed might. India has paved the way for America, UK and Israel, to repeat their nefarious aggression once again in the Middle East.

Whatever be technicalities involved in the matter, Manmohan Singh cannot doubt America’s well publicized threat to Iran’s sovereignty and thus he cannot escape the blame that he has used his office to go against the universal consensus of Indian people and even its political parties, including CPI (M) and BJP, against siding with the US, in its evil plans against a weak and indefensible country and that too in its very immediate neighborhood. Manmohan has bright war at the doorstep of India.

By this single act, India has fully registered its membership in the infamous colonial ‘axis of evil’ that the neo-con power-mongers have been gathering to take over the third world. In one stroke, Manmohan Singh has completely repudiated the whole history and ethos of India’s 58 years’ moral leadership of a world solidly aligned against the greed and avarice of the Western colonialists. Iraq is too fresh for Manmohan Singh, not to be drawing the correct conclusions while short-sightedly and tamely submitting to the high-handed dictates of an avaricious predator nation that will have no sympathy even for India, when it gets its upper hand.

It is a matter of great importance that except for Indian Express (which earlier was incensed on Natwar Singh using Muslim card; thus exposing its editor’s ugly communal face#), practically all mainstream media have instantly revolted against the small cabal of decision makers at the top, that have abused the trust and authority of their offices to commit India to a very hazardous course. Much before India hopes to achieve any economic miracle through liberalization, India will become the burial ground for South Asia’s all economic dreams.

The way Manmohan Singh’s misadventure has been vehemently opposed both by the Left as well as the Right, (the coalition partners and the political opposition, both of whom even on ideological grounds are supposed to be against Iranian regime – since this is not merely an Iranian issue), categorically proves that Manmohan Singh has committed a monumental and historical blunder. Either he should retrace the steps or simply resign. It is doubtful if India’s national interest is safe in his hands. It is apparent his commitment to the US and US plans to subjugate other countries is much deeper than people of India would have ever guessed.

Iran pipeline cannot be abandoned: Pakistan

Indo-Asian News Service

Islamabad, June 13, 2005|14:35 IST

US wants India, Pak to abandon Iran pipeline project »
India, Iran sign $22-billion LNG deal »

Standing up to the US, Pakistan has said it is aware it faces sanctions if it goes ahead with the Iran-India gas pipeline but cannot abandon the project due to the economic benefits it will bring.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

^^ all dreamy stuff indeed!
Pakistan cannot earn $$ from pipeline. It has to be built first. What do they say in this case:

Na no man tail hoga, na ratha naachay gee.
(Ratha will not dance until she acquires pateroleum assets).

Bharat would rather have strategic toys instead of a pipeline going through Pakistan. This means two MAToos sitting on Bharati tap. First Iranian MAToos can be highly unreliable, and even if they don't use the line as their dildo, Pakistan can always get angry.

The whole game now is to rid Iran of its MAToos just like Talibobs of Afghanistan. Just like bharatis offered their basis to US back then, they are towing US line in order to one up Pakistan.

When push comes to shove, Pakistan will work with US's anti-MAToo campaign.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

Unfortunately, in politics there are no long term friends only long term national interests.

Yet, I feel India will keep trying to help Iran, from inside or out.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

yes by stabbing iran in the back. This is what you call inside + outside help. hahah

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

Iran does not feel that strongly against India's stance. India does what is best for it and Iran does what is best for them. As for India being a bad friend, countries are not like individuals. A government has to do what is good for its people and more importantly stay in power to do that good. Iran will never abandon doing deals (pipeline is only one) with India. Iran is going to sell a pile of gas to India and earn billions of dollars they need, Pakistan will earn over $800 millions a year on tranport royalties and India gets Iran gas for half the world price. So you guys can scream as loudly as you want that India stabbed Iran in the back but Iranis are not listening to you. For crying out loud, there is not even an Iran Guppy that is protesting. Iran, pakistan or India, none of them said anything about cancelling gas line project as a result of India's vote.

If Iran felt so stabbed in the back how come they rushed to declare that no deal with India was in danger and everything is busines as usual. All you Pakistani Guppies have your chaddies way too much in knot over this.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

^^ Dream on baboo!
We will see whoes chaddies or chuddies will get knotty or naughty.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

India wants that Nuclear Feul from America, so it voted against Iran, just to keep Uncle Sam happy.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

^^ may be!

However Bharatis want to check mate Paks. Just like what they did by offering bases after 9/11. They knew damn well, that Pak was the only place that could provide necessary infrastructure for the GI's wrath on Talibobs. Still Bharatis went to Uncle Sam while wagging their tale.

This time again, Mullahs of Iran will be given drubbing. This time again, Pakistan has to provide logistics and the bases for US airforce and CIA. This time again Bharatis are trying to one-up Paks.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

Did you not see Iran's reaction after India did this? Somewhere down the road, Iran might say **** Off to India. Afterall, India is trying to buy and build a LNG pipeline from Iran to India, worth $7Billion. This can only mean better Iranian relations with Pakistan.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

India cannot checkmate Pakistan, as long as China is around. Not to forget, the Gwadar port will be the gateway of Chinese trade with the Middle-East & Africa. Chinese presence in the region is likely.

Re: Why did India vote against Iran?

^^ huh? China?
No Baboo! China won't figure in this fight for another 50 years. Right now it is between Uncle Sam and the Ayatullahs. The next round will be played (I hope not) to give a drubbing to the Mullahs just like the way Talibobs got their head skinned. Sure Iran is no Afghanistan. So the price paid to Pakistan for its cooperation will be bigger too. Bharatis are just trying to win brownie points from the dear Uncle.
