We are the Taxpayers. Around £9 billion of taxpayers' money has been spent on the Olympics.Now, it's our time,so we better watch it.

I don't think it's desis or non-desis. It's a sporting event.
And, like some have already said, sports lovers watch and enjoy the sports.
Pervy dude watch and enjoy the show.

I'll watch the evens I like and don't pay attention to the ones I don't.

But it's fun to see how many medals your nation has and how well they're doing in a global competition. :)

Me and sister had our own mini Olympic hula hoop event. I dont think we have a clear winner of gold though cos we both judged ourselves as winning gold. :/

More seriously I think it's important for children to watch the olympics for inspiration (yes, the inspire theme has worked on me), one of the girls I used to teach loves gym and thanks to people like Beth Tweedle raising awareness of the sport, the little girl I taught takes part in local and national gym competitions. She's so passionate about her sport and it's good for her health and over all well-being. I would rather have all of my 30 children watching every single Olympic sporting eventing than let them play with a Wii or an (i)Poo.
