I think most guys would take advantage of it, by having their FILs help them out financially.

Reha, agreed, mothers can’t ever replace wives and vice versa. I’ve come across plenty of egoistic men but hardly any joru k ghulams or amma k babies. Most men have a pretty good grasp of this stuff and if not, I don’t blame them, both men and women need some time to adjust to the new lifestyle especially in arranged marriage situations.

IMHO you are incorrect. Girls are raised with the very idea that yeh unka paraya ghar hai…agley ghar nai jana…hay phir beti ho gaye. etc.

I am interested in knowing how many of these girls who label desi **men **as “puppies” and “babies” have given the same label to their fathers and were as loud and clear against their grandmother & father on this as they are against their inlaw (or inlaw to be) – just curious.
