Stu asks a very good question in the topic. Why deny?
Everyone knows there is a group(s) of Islamic fundamentalists who have openly and often threatened to attack Americans, US interests and US allies because of their support for sanctions, Israel, the occupation, etc., etc., etc.
Many times, the groups expressly claim credit for the act and then threaten whoever is next. The guys who did it and their supporters are happy about their attacks and they are useful recruiting tools to get others to join the bandwagon.
Then, you've got a group of people who vary their positions almost daily with the inconsistent positions of (1) it's chickens come home to roost; versus (2) Muslims didn't do it.
Once you accept the existence of the Muslim terror groups, it just seems so idiotic to deny every single attack that occurs.

Then you should address your such concerns to those people who change their opinions and not brush everyone with one brush. There are people who have denied it all the time, people who may have switched positions and people who say its “chicken come home to roost”…
Problems in Muslim societies do exist, but it doesn’t mean they should readily accept all blames without proper investigation.

I think the Many Muslims you are talking about are extremists, you have them too in your country. It really doesn’t matter what they think and they don’t represent most of the Muslim views. Many Muslims do believe that they were Muslims but, their argument is that you should label them as terrorists rather than Muslims because Muslims too get killed in such terrorist attacks.

Denial is part of pseudo-extremism, where one believes in the extreme views but don't have the courage to carry out any of the actions.
Living in South (of USA) for many years I have come to know the people who believed that Rudolph is innocent while believing at the same time that people who carry out abortions and those who assist them deserve to die.
