exactly my thoughts! it seems like they are more interested in going after lawyers, media, politicians etc... The whole 1-2week emergency came right before the SC was to make a judgement about Mushys case, but apparently thats more important to curtail than the killing of people. We have innocent people like aitezaz ahsan and muneer malik rotting and dying in jail. They have the ability to 'intercept' intimate conversations b/w top terrorists a few minutes after benazir's murder but dont have any means to catch them.
To save Musharraf's chair, they will never catch them. Every few months you will see the drama of an "operation" in a certain city which will kill innocent civilians in heaps and the terrorists will be shifted to another place for the preps of a new drama.

Why couldn't america catch zarqawi in iraq for so many years when the controlled the entire country through their advanced military or osama, zawahiri, mullah omar, dadullah etc in pakistan and afghanistan? You all should volunteer to go into Waziristan and ask people if they are hiding terrorists in their house. A number of ISI agents and their contacts got beheaded for doing something similar.

No they are not. This surge of 30k troops is noting in a country of 26 million peoples. The relative calm they are so happy about is because the bar for any semblance of relief is extremely low in Iraq. And this decrease in violence has been done so mostly by cutting deals with sunni militias....and shia militias whereby parallel forces and militias are now officially being subsidized by the US military which has given Iraqi govt. its nightmares where they see this leading to an eventual Mexican standoff with these well armed militias. Plus the largest shiite militia has temporarily retire for Muharram. while Kurds are busy in northern Iraq with Turkey.
Iraq was doomed from the beginning and there is no saving it. No Iraqi had any asinine ideas that this war for their liberation. Not even the million dead in the past 4 years.
