Hareem, you’re very right. Actually, the medical board of california has already initiated an investigation of the fertility doctor involved in this. There are already “standards” in place - but these are merely guidelines and not laws. The standards were violated here and its pretty apparent that the guidelines and standards need to become more firmly adhered to which I think will happen as a result of this case.

The doc was wrong to implant so many fetuses - clearly putting the life of the mother and all of the babies at risk. The guidelines are no more than 3.
The mother was fully aware that so many implanted fetuses put them all at risk - yet she encouraged the doc to implant this many (according to reports it was 6, two of which became twins). So what was her plan if she didnt survive? She already had 6 kids, no job and very little support at home. Yet she risked her life to have a “litter” of babies. Dont you all see a problem with that?
The fertility doc should have sent her for counseling and evaluation prior to undertaking such a life-threatening risk. The fertility doc should also have stuck to the standards set forth by the medical community.
BUT now that its all done and over with, youre right that they should receive support from the public. It seems that they will not need financial support for a while since the mother is making all kinds of public appearance deals for which she is handsomely paid. Death threats are indeed unacceptable and shocking - those people will hopefully be caught, prosecuted and sent to jail.
