The kilt is a traditional garment of **Scotland **and, more recently, Celtic (more specifically Gaelic) culture, the term **‘Celtic’ **is generally used to describe the languages and respective cultures of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man and Brittany, also known as the Six Celtic Nations.

Day-to-day kilt wearing is rarely if ever encountered … but we fairly see Scotts wearing it on their little joy trips to Ireland …

Irish Kilt …

a garment that has often been mistaken for the kilt in early depictions is the Irish ‘Lein-croich’, a long tunic traditionally made from solid colour cloth, with black, saffron and green being the most widely used colours.

Solid colored Irish kilts were first adopted for use by the Irish Regiments serving in the British Army, but they could often be seen in late 19th and early 20th century photos in Ireland especially at political and musical gatherings, as the kilt was adopted as a symbol of Gaelic nationalism in Ireland during this period…

And ya dont wear a kilt at work … damn it aint a fancy dress party :pcg:

Sounds like you are darpok.

Wait till you see how loneliness haunts the creatures :)

what about gays, are they allowed to wear? :hehe:

Re: Why cant men wear

Alright Ladies (I am addressing YOU men),

Why must complain you about wearing cheap 2 cent chappals or sandels preferred by Gay men? Just be a man and wear normal professional shoes.

Whats this cry about shorts, chances are that no one wants to see your hairy, stick-like legs anyway. SO put those suckers away at work.

I wear suits at work, maybe take off the jacket when I am with co-workers...we have this thing called air conditioning which means that you can still be comfortable while wearing a proper shirt, pants. Where do you people work?

In my line of work, both men and women stick to a strict dress code. Like my boss says, you don't like to wear a suit and make the big bucks, you know where the door is, just walk through it.

Professionalism still means something.

May be you live in San Francisco that is why you see lots of gay men with chappals on.
Since when hairy legs of men have become an ugly sight for men or women ? For gay men may be.
The only profession left which emphasizes on wearing suits is door to door selling of vacuum cleaners in order to sell more vacuum cleaners.
Bill Gates the person with biggest bucks on this face of earth never wore suit and tie to work.
There is nothing like big bucks , one man's big bucks can be peanuts for other man.
At IBM where even blue collar workers used to wear white shirt and tie , things have changed. Professionalism does not necessarily mean a suit and tie. The mechanic who works in a car repair shop is also a professional , try telling him to wear suit and tie at work and he might come after you with his wrench in his hand.
