I wonder if the parents know that they would be held answerable for the direction which they give to their children in such a young and immature age.
when the love and romance crap comes into picture , everything else blurs out, even god and religion.
Nice thread STP I was thinking that thing that some words are usually not good for us especially how Hindi films start with their Gods names or Songs like "bolo subh-o-shaam harray karishna harray raam" Astaghfaar or "om shanti om" we all know that its their Gods and atleast we should try to avoid listening such songs.
Bollywood songs are not good in general for intelligent people, nevermind Muslims.
My household was never that religious at all; but we never listened to crap from bollywood. There is much better music out there; expand your mind people.

Re: Why Bollywood Songs are not good for Muslims ?!
Just came to know about this...

Why isn't it possible to write a song without the terms that are specifically for Allah (swt). It is pointless to mention it in a song where the person is addressing his beloved and not Allah (swt). Even if they address Khuda, it is too in a disgraceful manner. It is really painful to see small children singing:
Noor e khuda, noor e khuda
Tu kahan chupa hai hume ye bataa
Yun na humse nazarein phira
Tera milta nahin hai pataa
Tera mitta chala hai nishaan
Even if we can't stop them, unfortunately, Muslims like me should at least stop listening to them because indirectly they are promoting them. They keep disgracing our religious terms and we keep promoting it by listening to it, and Muslim children enjoy singing it.

Typical of another form of rot in society,
Personally havent seen any of the output from Bollywood since the early 80's and it was trashy then so no doubt it's worse now.
Besides Films in genral have lost it... particularly hate the Bollywood style of a song after every five minutes.... its awfull becuase they cant even keep it out of a serious film!
Hollywood isn't any better so i'm sticking to retro things... at least people back then had more sense.
Haven't read all the posts in this thread..but just wanted to share that my siblings and I have never been exposed to indian media in our life and our parents never watched indian films either. And whenever anyone in uni used to ask me" yar wo movie dekhi, bohut ala hai"...and I told them I don't watch indian movies they'd be very offended (portraying how much of an association they have developed with the indian media)...and backfire sarcastically, "then what do you like, lollywood?"
Having grown up without an exposure to indian media I am at least able to see the situation now with a fresh and unbiased perspective and what a mess it is creating for our culture and society.
Although there are many things that they are and we are not and vice verca (Which is why Pakistan was made in the first place). One thing that irritates me is that in the Hindu society women have that "sharmeela dhamkeela" persona which is so in contrast to Muslim women who are much more graceful and confident. But some women (some) who are huge fans of bollywood are so mesmerized by bollywood movies that they tend to forget this thing and start subconsciously imitating their image.
