Specially for Children. Because a lot of times they conflict with the basics of a Muslim’s belief System, and unintentionally a Muslim would be “Gungunaying” those words of Shirk (Even if he doesn’t mean it). Well, even if I don’t mean to disrespect my mom, I wouldn’t like to use unintentionally any words that lead to disrespect towards my mom.

I wanna do what my parents did and NOT expose them to bollywood while they're young esp since now it's so much trash...granted parents said the same thing abt bollywood in their generation but now its much worse :o

Yes. It is really sad to see 3-4 years old girls singing "Mera chain wain sab bigra, zalim nazar hataley...."
and 5-6 years old boys singing " Dil hua fana, ab to Imaan ley ley ya-rab....."
There are many more songs like "Ya-Ali"....etc.
Even in one song a man was looking at a woman and singing **" Terey naam ka kalima parhta hoon, tujhi ko sajda karta hoon"

"Mujh ko merey rab ki kasam, Yara rab se bhi pehley hai tu...."

I wonder if the parents know that they would be held answerable for the direction which they give to their children in such a young and immature age.

The very first principle of poetry that you can not take its literal meaning and aply logic and reasoning on it. Poetry is always relative and its meaning is mostly allegorical.
DO NOT commit same blunder as molvian-e-hind when they declared Iqbal infidel after the release of his Shikwa, Jawab-e-shikwa.
Poetry is a form of art. It is not mathematics or physics

Bollywood culture is not good for any society not even for India. I talked to many Indian friends and asked them which culture Bollywood portrays. They shrugged their shoulders. The kind of dresses , the way of talking , nothing is reflection from life on the street. Bollywood directors, story tellers, producers all live in fantasy land.

the principal reason bollywood songs are not good for Muslims is that they give the impression that Indians can be positive role models. it humanizes the enemy and makes them seem less pernicious than we know they are.
i would suggest even to Muslims who are in India to stick to Pakistani dramas of the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

My urdu professor, who is a well known poet in Pakistan (I won't disclose his name without permission) once said that calling present bollywood songs as poetry is a great disrespect to poetry.
I am sure if Ghalib, Meer or Iqbal listen to them in their grave, it would be a great torture for them.
Let us respect poetry and not compare it with present day songs.
Btw, according to the rule that you applied, how would you justify the following wordings
" Mera yaar rab to sona...." (My beloved is more beautiful than my creator / Lord) ASTAGHFIRULLAH!!

Poetry has different forms. Songs are form of both poetry and arts. Also the Pakistani urdu professors who think poetry is only what ghalib, hali, mir, or iqbal wrote; then they need to come out of their little shells and explore the versatility in poetry.

After going through such posts I am happy being a hindu. Atlesat i dont have to worry abt what is bad and right. I do what i feel is Correct.
Half of the post in religious forum is like what is haram and what is halaal. even for celebrating independence day there is a post to find out whether it is allowed in islam.
Can't one use their own brain to figure out good and bad?

Vulgarity in songs is one thing, but this is something else. I agree with STP.
Poetic freedom is all fine and dandy, but we should be careful of songs whose lyrics take unnecessary liberties with the words representing The Almighty and especially those that border on shirk.

Not agressive yaar and nothing against religious people But then why god gave them brain if they cant figure out what is good or bad on basic things(not only muslims but same is applied to people from other religions too).
