Re: Why Bollywood Songs are not good for Muslims ?!
yar maybe their brain uses their religion in order to figure out what is good or bad.. people have different justifications for things na, samjha karo. some have the religion as justification, others have other philosophies.

The examples you gave are very good and logical. I totally agree. Muslim poets never used to take love of beloved to such an extent that it start exceeding the limits, let alone comparison with love of Allah (s.w.t)
As Allah said in the Quran that unlike jews muslims should refrain from using the word Rayeena but use Unzurna (if I am not wrong) whenever they meet the prophet (saw)
@Faisal bhai. Well said. I couldn't have said it better.
Re: Why Bollywood Songs are not good for Muslims ?!
My mom didn't let me or any of my siblings watch indian movies until we were 11 or 12..haha. Even after that, once in a while..but then again, that was back in the 90s. These days kids are exposed to TV/movies/media EVERYWHERE so it's not very feasible to prevent them from watching indian movies or listening to songs and such.
Personally, I try my best to avoid listening to songs with 'obvious' shirk terms. But, it can't be avoided all the time for instance if I am going out with a friend and om shanti om is playing in her car.haha.
These songs No one even bothers to listen the songs a second time let alone pay attention to their lyrics. I mean current bollywood songs you are quoting/
The song you quoted in the first post , however is a classic song and contain beautiful poetry. :k: The rules of poetry are same as i have mentioned.
Ajee poetry main mubaligha nahi hoga tu wo poetry nahi Pakistan Studies ki book book ban jaye gi… Jis main sirf sach hota tha, Adhoora sach :halo:
Is shair ko jis nigah se aap our aap ke hum-khayal log dekhtey hian … agar kuch der ke leye kisi our zaweye se dekh laingey tu koi harj nahi
Hamara parwardigar hum se itni muhabbat karta hai ke wo hamian ghalat rastey per chalta howa ziada der dekh nahi paata , Ye tu sab musalmano ko pata hai ke Allah 70 Maaon se bhi ziada payar karta hai apney bandey se …
^ merey khayal se is wazahat ke baad is shair main koi kharabi baqi nahi reh jaye gi
Re: Why Bollywood Songs are not good for Muslims ?!
Personally I don't think kids really understand the words of Bollywood songs that much. More than the words, I think it is the addiction to the movies and then self visualization that is more harmful. I've seen little Indian and Pakistani kids in gatherings pretending to be Shahruk Khan and Whatever and acting out movie scenes with great passion. Then at some point they start behaving and feeling like filmstar material. I'm more concerned about the negative portrayal of our culture be it Hindu or Muslim because it deviates from the truth and reality.
Of couse we can argue that it is just entertainment, but it has a way of getting us addicted and carried away. I guess a balance, if possible, is needed.
the principal reason bollywood songs are not good for Muslims is that they give the impression that Indians can be positive role models. it humanizes the enemy and makes them seem less pernicious than we know they are.
Compelling argument !!
Ravage....what can I say...you better yourself with every post.
I ask again - do you have a twin brother named "Anil Khan" ?
After going through such posts I am happy being a hindu. Atlesat i dont have to worry abt what is bad and right. I do what i feel is Correct.
Exactly man.
I don't care too much about my religion (Hinduism)........but I will be honest and say it bluntly - "I am glad I was not born a Muslim". I say it without any malice.
There is way too many decrees, laws and guidelines to live by. Many pretty archaic and not in keeping with the times (but then again I am no expert on Islam, so don't come after me).
Getting finicky about mundane song lyrics...I have noticed that for Muslims, it is not enough to be just religious, you also have to advertise your supposed greatness(by virtue of being religious) to others, just like "Submission to Peace" does with every single post of his.

Good for you, enjoy it. As for us "Muslims" we enjoy it too, and say the same "thank God we are born Muslim" :)

It's because eastern religions (Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism) are more about guidelines and more about general morality/way of life whereas Abrahamic religions (Xtianity, Judaism and Islam) are more strict rules"this is right this is wrong" dictatorship religions.
I don't care much for any religion to begin with (they're all ancient scams! haha okay maybe a little extreme) but if I had to choose I'd take the eastern religions of the abrahamic religions anyday exactly because of the reasons you mention.

taking one member and extrapolating his approach to all ppl is a little much wont you say. because I can go to any Indian site and find a hindu version of him who will be waxing lyrical about religious approach to rasoi, and to puja time and place and ashnan if one thing or another happens.
There are several hundred posts any given day across the forums, yet one post by one person or some posts by a handful of people among thousands and one does not hear the end of it.
I would hate to extrapolate what hindus are like by the display I see in religious forums on GS and the attitudes that certain people bring..advertising greatness and all ;)
why bollywood only, refer to pakistani songs, qawalis and heck even some naats,. marsiye and damn especially ghazals and you will not like them.
I mean there is a more valid reason to dislike bollywood songs and that is pure aesthetics. the music, lyrics and singing all leaves something to be desired. I still dont get it why copy music blatantly from all over, just recently I heard a song that copied music from heart by Pet Shop Boys. and for god’s sake the piercing lata, asha bhosle sounds are just too much..eeeek eeeeekk peeeeeen peeeeeeeen.
while bollywood had some good music and some good singers like kishore, rafi etc in past..now majority of the stuff is really bad.
and to be fair, for the same reason..i.e. quality of music..or lack thereof, I dont like majority of music from Lollywood, or from pakistani or Indian pop scene, whether its abrar, daler, or whoever.
Re: Why Bollywood Songs are not good for Muslims ?!
lol yes, esp the punjabi woman on youtube who wears lachas with skin color stockings with no underwear then makes it a habit in every song to lift up her skirt and point to her nether regions. :@:
