^once again, i gave you an example of pakistanis growing up believing in their God given military supremacy, largely because we're Muslims. while you may view Muslims as one monolithic entity, its an understandably poor grasp on our diverse backgrounds.
the buchanan article is much more rational, largely because its an exposition of a well researched book and not opining of a weekly journalist.

PD, did you read my whole post? I explained how we(as muslims internally) can change the course. I can care less what those extremists think of me. I know that in order for us (muslims) to succeed we must reconcile our differences with other nations and take baby steps to get out of this mess.
MV, yaar, I can counter it so many ways, but I will try to keep it brief. First of all you are comparing westeren values (drinking beer, and watching a football game), many muslims can care less for either. (Ok, I am a sucker for NFL, but that is beside the point). The non-believer is getting all the rewards because he works hard and probably follows the laws laid down by Allah. For example, bribery is a big no no in Islam, however, you go to any Islamic country and if you have money you can get away with any crime by bribing the officials. Compare this to westeren world, where bribery does exist but not on a large scale. Hence the westerener is following Allah’s law. Islam prohibits us from “backbiting” (chughali), yet most of our desi friends (mostly women) are highly involved in this kind of behavior. Again, comapre this with the westeren values (this is my observation) it is disliked or discourgaed to talk behind people’s back. I come to the same conclusion, the fat guy with beer is closer to Allah’s law than a average muslim…so on and so forth.

Telling the truth and being honest should begin with accepting the fact that most if not all of the killings attributed to jihadis are infact done by jihadis, instead of blaming Jews or Martians.

I am a Christian New ager. New agers don’t believe in comparing religions. And Christ taught compassion above all so I can’t spread hate or disinformation by saying I am better, or my religion is better, becauese it’s not. Neither is your’s better. Deep down you know it, most muslims know it, but they are too afraid to go against the grain, or too arrogant to admit they are not as superior as they have been taught they are. Yes christians and hindus too can be stupid about it but in a milder way.

Correct, except it would have sounded nicer if you hadn’t used th term ‘non believer’.
In fact htat is a contradiction. if Allah can reward non believers then it means oen does not have to believe in Islam to get rewards. Which means there is no such thing as being a non believer in the eyes of God, unless you mean ‘someone who does not follow the natural laws of the universe’.

Ignorance is the master of the weak minded here it seems. Firstly you lot confuse Judeo-christain beliefs with Islam. No where is it written to my knowledge that being muslim is a requirement for entering heaven. Rather Islam emphasizes our deeds and actions over the label we provide ourselves. If you read modern day fundo christain and jewish literature, they both say you have to be christain and jewish respectively to enter heaven. Islam does not.
Unlike in the other two religions, it is stated in Islam that Allah is merciful and benevolent. In the old testement, God is vengeful and evil. In the new testement, Jesus is described as peaceful and loving. God is not described in full terms. However He is the al-mighty. He can choose to bless whoever he wants whenever he wants. We are not to question why.

Here is a perfect example of taking a statement out of context. I was replying to MV’s post and he used the word non-believer, hence I used it as well to explain my position.
I am not going to get bogged down by getting into a philosophical discussion about God and religion in this thread. If you want we can discuss it in an appropriate thread, in religion forum perhaps.

Talwar the truth is that US and UK are very much repsonsible for killing of inncoent civilians. If you are going to label jihadis as terrorists I suggest you lable all alloed armies as terrorists as well. Afterall the only difference is that they are wearing uniforms. They kill innocent civilians just the same, you just dont see 24/7 news coverage of it.
Also, Islam and Pakistan hating hindus like yourself are broken records who come here to amke toruble and nothing else.

If Americans can bomb a country on a false pretext of WMD to protect their freedom after Sep.11 and kill over 100,000, because Arabs killed their people, then Arabs will kill their people when they watch over 100,000 dead women and children on their TV's and in on the front page of their local newspaper. People tend to turn everything into scholarly puke; it is simple practical human instinct. I see what you do to my people, I hear what you do to my people, I am told about what you do to my people, and then someone tells me there is something I can do to get back, I'll do it. There is no reason to write a god damn book about it. If Muslims were economically superior, if they were technologically superior, there still be war. Where the Nazis inferior? Where the Russians inferior? What were their religious beliefs? If repeating the images of collapsing twin towers over, and over and over again on CNN MSNBC FOX is enough to rally the civilized and educated nation of US OF A to war against a nation that had nothing to do with terrorism, and only on the words of a cowboy, imagine what true raw images of dead Muslim children women men would do to a camel rider in Arabia! The American didn't question their religion, they didn't question their god at the time Bush, they just went for it even though there were so many people calling to rethink the whole war scheme. What matter was getting back, they saw dead Americans, they wanted to see dead Arabs, the same way Muslims won't question their local mullahs or their religion. They see dead Muslims, they want to see those dead who have killed their fellow Muslims.

If any Muslim can take "revenge" for any other Muslim then why are there separate Muslim countries? Why are Arab Muslim countries deporting illegal Pakistanis and Bangladeshis everyday? Why do they have passports and visas?
