Why are you a muslim?

er. becuase my parents are…is probably the lame answer we all think of.

I admit I dont know why im a muslim, i was born into a family who is and thats it, and my parents are…do i know why I AM A MUSLIM…if a non muslim asks you this question, what do you say.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

I was born into it but it feels like it is a part of me even after that. There are those who wish to change, never felt that reason. Rather the current geo-political climate has reinforced my faith and my desire to be a proud muslim.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

CM-thats not an answer to the question though,

Re: Why are you a muslim?

Alright to be clear. It is a part of me. I have made a concious decision to abide by the rules and aspects of my faith. It was a decision I made when I was in college.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

I would choose no other faith... for no other faith can ever match the pedigree of my own.

Islam is a way of life not just a religion if i had a choice i would have chosen only a hundfull of faiths and those would have been Judaism, Christianity, Sikhism or Islam.

And after a close analysis i turned down the Judaism and Christianity for they have no place for a person like myself... Sikhs have some good aspects which i like however Islam is by far the best in terms of accomadating my daily needs.

Also it has the greatest martial heritage so i accpet the faith without question.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

why? because I was born a muslim and have not found any real reason to not be a muslim or to be something else or to be nothing.

Well true Muslims never compromise on thier faith and although these days we are under great pressure as an Ummah on the whole much is intact and despite external pressure our faith is still strong.

Jews were once just as great but the Roman invasion exposed thier weaker individuals who sold out the nation for gold... (Muslims do this too but never on the scale of the Jews) also the Jews wrought changes and even murdered Prophets.

Christians were much better and thier faith a lot stronger until the Churches kept splitiing into factions, Muslims fought Muslims too but never on the scale n which Christians have killed each other.

Sikhs are in some respect even more stronger in thier faith than many Muslims and therefore i respect that greatly and for me personally they make worthy foes and magnificent friends at the same time.

But Muslims were once and many still are universally a single faith that is unbreakable... yes Muslims have fought Muslims and still do so but on the whole even divided Muslims have come together many times unlike other faiths where upon splitting they have never re-conected.

every single person on this planet is BORN a muslim. end of.

what changes them is their upbringing, culture etc. Thats why the term “revert” has become very popular these days… I’ve seen a lot of vids on youtube where a non-muslim is converting to islam but he/she says, because I was born a muslim, I’m simply reverting, not converting…

anyway, i don’t feel like typing today so :phati:

Re: Why are you a muslim?

There was a time i used to think why am i muslim but then when i discovered God i felt glad

i am a muslim because i like believing theres God and he will take care of my stuff.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

because no other religion answers my questions like Islam ...
because no other religion brings me inner peace and contentment like Islam ...
because no other religion touches my soul like Islam ....

Re: Why are you a muslim?

because that is WHO I am. Its like asking a woman, why are u a woman? why don't go out there and get a sex change because some women do. Likewise, some ppl change their religions but i feel that being a Muslim defines WHO I am.

^What X2 said. And also, my religion (when you read/learn about it), it makes sense to me.

Re: Why are you a muslim?

I was born a Muslim, but i wasn't *really *a Muslim. Muslim by name, but not by nature.

It was only after a life changing moment that i was led to/drawn to Islam and it's the mercy of Allah that has allowed me to continue being Muslim, Alhamdulillah.

I have studied many other religions extensively, and continue to do so, and thus far, i haven't found any other religion that makes sense to me.

And most importantly, i'm looking forward to getting me some hooris come heaven time...

Re: Why are you a muslim?

I agree with most of you here... I have found a reason to be anything other than being a muslim... but what if I find it doesnt answer everything I want to know. How do we seek answers to those questions that trouble us....

especially those about poverty, starvation, drought.... where do we get answers for these questions?

Don't you know the answer to those questions?

you are being tested by Allah, is the answer.

yes, those in all kinds of pain (poverty, starvation, drought, wars, rapes, slavery, child abuse etc.) are your test subjects so that you get some lessons and don't do what they did. Be a good kid and you will get lots of sweets and all the play stuff. Be a bad one and you will be locked in a dark room with bad bad monsters.

Assuming that all the "judgment day" and other "hereafter" events do happen, I don't know how you people are gonna deal with the God but I sure have a lot more questions for God to answer me than the other way around.

:omg:

it was the answer.
