yes, those in all kinds of pain (poverty, starvation, drought, wars, rapes, slavery, child abuse etc.) are your test subjects so that you get some lessons and don't do what they did. Be a good kid and you will get lots of sweets and all the play stuff. Be a bad one and you will be locked in a dark room with bad bad monsters.
Assuming that all the "judgment day" and other "hereafter" events do happen, I don't know how you people are gonna deal with the God but I sure have a lot more questions for God to answer me than the other way around.
they may be our test cases... but what did they do that was so wrong?
Alhamdullilah that my parents were.
However, as i think i grow older..I'm so glad my parents werent just muslim by names. They actually enforced it..not in a strict way but at least they told me to pray namaz, or dont eat haram or what it means to be a Muslim. The rest was up to me, but at least their reminders kept me in check.
As I grow older, its my own responsibility to learn about Islam and remain a Muslim and iA i'll continue to do so.
Someone once said to be me..there's no such thing as a passive muslim. The word Muslim itself is active and thats how we should maintain it.

oops! sorry, I was being sarcastic. should've made it a little more obvious.
What I meant to say was that no religion gave me any (satisfactory)answers re above.
