I was bored and just checking some information, and I discovered that:
There are 1,900,000 Indians in the U.S yet only 204,000 Pakistanis.
In the UK it is 1,030,000 Indians and 706,000 Pakistanis.
There are more Pakistanis in London (150,000) and Birmingham (105,000) then the whole of the U.S. In New York there are only 35,000 Pakistanis.
Why are there so few Pakistanis in the U.S?
Just checked Canada and it seems that there are 75,000 Pakistanis in Canada…that can’t be right…I thought there would be a lot more. There are about 715,000 Indians in Canada.
arshad5 what are your surces for your stats. Adil najam's book being published by harvard uni press estimates pakistni numbers at 500K which is much higher than yours, and estimates 35% of that is in NYC which is again much higher than your number.
its also in new york times aug 21st issue. titled Pakistanis find US a better fit than Britain.

I think these stats mean those who are living in those countries holding only Pakistani nationality & not those who are of Pakistani origin. I think there are only 75000 pakistani only in Toronto.
Estimates are areound half a million pakistanis in US and i have also heard that the number is actually closer to 1 million (Pak’s ambassadorto US was quoted as mentioning this on CNN once)
Pakistanis should stay in Pakistan and help Pakistan become a strong country instead of migrating to the west. Brain drain is not gonna help Pakistan. India’s case is different- they dont have resources and are 1 billion in number. They can’t keep everyone in that area
These numbers are totally out of date. Canada has close to 500,000 pakistanis. Greater Toronto area alone has about 200,000. Official stats will never give the true picture caz all the refugee claimants and illegals will not be part of that figure.
I don't know about Canada and the U.S but in the UK the census asks for your ethnic orgin....therefore Pakistani's born in the UK and outside would be included.
The Census would include refugees but obviously illegals would try to avoid the census....I therefore accept that there would be some under representation in the figures for all the countries.
