Compared to Americans we are but that's because (spoiler: huge generalisation but then again this whole thread is a sweeping generalisation) we say things to people's faces as opposed to the very plastic attitude I've seen Americans put on. They have this very creepy, fake smile and are incredibly polite only to ***** later.
Also sarcasm is our thang.
I like the fact that with us you get what you see, each to their own though.

There was this lady at work who thought Mr. Bean was annoying and she hated him :( She wasn't my friend any more!
You guys know that there its more to Rowan Atkinson than Mr Bean, right? :D His stand ups are ones to watch. But then again its prime example of british humor and hence some people dont get his jokes.

Having recently visited disneyland paris I would say the British are some of the more polite people in Europe. Whilst I saw the French, Portuguese and Arabs queue jumping and generally being arrogant at every opportunity , the Brits would queue and usually apologise profusely even if you had bumped into them. British chavs on the other hand...

The Spanish are the most ruuuuuudest and arrogant people in Europe, they don't even smile, i've noticed that they don't like the BRITS, i don't know why.

Compare to Americans, maybe our humour is not simple enough but I'd say Brits are probably the friendliest and funniest lot in Europe.
Most people who don't know enough about everyday life and everyday people of this country just like hold onto the old stereotypes from the days of Empire.

The first impressions you get of any nation is surely at passport control/ immigration at airport! I mean, I have personally never ever encountered a friendly person at an american airport!! What does that say about the americans? I still wouldn't make any generalisations about our cousins across the ocean! We brits on the other hand are the most opologetic of all peoples I know, I mean c'mon we start all our sentences with 'sorry' :)

That's probably more cos over here in the UK, we love to queue lol, whereas in other countries, people don't queue at all, it's not part of the culture. It's irritating but i wouldn't call it arrogance at all. They probably think we Brits are weird for queuing.
Saby - Rowan Atkinson is soooooooooooooooo good in Blackadder!!! Hugh Laurie is pretty awesome in it too, but Brian Blessed is hilarious! I love the man!

Fair enough you did write SOME , but I didn’t therefore I admit it seems like it was a generalization BUT I stand corrected - I did explain not ALL brits are the way I described them to be. My point in my last post still stands.
