Why are so many couples opting for "Open Marriage"?

What the heck is this…“so many” couples engaging in open marriage? Where? Who? I’ve heard of the concept and know what it is. And while I’m not an overly social person with a huge circle of friends, I do know lots of people. NONE of whom would ever indulge in such sociopathic behavior. I met one couple who one time engaged in some sort of trade-for-a-night and it caused nothing but heartache and very nearly divorce.

I’d like to know where this is coming from…do you actually know these people who do these things? Do you watch too much “Desperate Housewives” perhaps? Or am I looking at the world with rose-colored glasses as I’ve sometimes been known to do?

Well said. I wanted to say something about this ‘so many’ also.
