So I was talking to my dad a few months ago. He told me about an incident about four years ago where he was bidding for a government tender via one of his pakistani bussinesses. The value of the tender was 2 crore (would have left my dad with 50% profit). He was told he would have to resubmit the tender for 10 crores, with 5 crores going to the guy passing the tender, 2crores to my dad and 3 crores to cover tax etc. Why do do Pakistani beuracrats loot their own people? My dad just walked away, he can’t be asked for any of that bull****.

it's away of life in the sub-continent. you can't escape even if you want to. there are better chances for a pig to fly then get things done without bribing the people in authority.
just accept it and move on!

Sorry for this incident but very unfortunately its the pattern right now. Cancer of corruption is spread in our system down to the core. They ask for bribe treating it as their right. Now remember that they are not only corrupt financially but also morally and ethically. So their is no sense of patriotism either and thats why they'd never think if its in the favor of country or no.
Thats wut corruption does. It makes you extremely selfish and morally blind/deaf/senseless

Corruption in Indian burecracy is far more than on in Pakistan. But I strongly disagree with your last statement. Why accept it and why move on? React and protest whenever and whereever you can. Dont be insensitive. It'll just promote corruption. you gotto play your role in uprooting this evil which ofcourse has very meagre chances

well, the level of corruption on either side of the border is an undeniable fact. as far as why i asked to accept and move on owing to the fact that an ordinary person can't do much about it unless the political elite in power at the top do something about it.
Anna Hazare did what he could and what others could do about the corruption. AAP is in power in Delhi which was elected on the promise that it would clean up the corruption. well, last time around they failed...let's see what Kejriwal and Anna Hazare [if teamed up] and his party can do this time.
unfortunately, it's indeed a way of life in our part of the world and in many other parts as well. hamaare mo'aashare ke har tabqe meN yeh jaraaseem burii taraH ghul mil chukaa hai. yeh ek naasoor hai jisse nijaat milnaa 'joo-e-sheer' laane se kamtar nahiiN. sad though!

Because they know they will find their way out of accountability by spending less than half of what they have earned doing corruption. A win win situation right?
