What I wanted to say that all men are not insecure like your title implies.
Buut just to be on his side, men have a very straight forward mind, so when they see a problem, they come up with a simplistic reason why that must have happened
In your case, if you guys had a good past and for wahtever reason the breakup happened, the first reason his mind came up with .. Oh there must be another guy in her life who replaced me

Is this the first time? Did you leave him before and dated other guys or is he just making this up? Maybe he's just pissed off at you because you claim to love him (as you stated in this thread) yet make irrational decisions that not only impact yourself, but him as well.
You don't seem to be the type who likes to listen to anybody, and make sudden instinct decisions on your own that you probably will regret later on.
