The people’s rants that I mentioned just add to the misery of parents of daughters of marriagable age. **But they also have a religious duty to marry their daughters. **Only the external pressures end them with accepting the most horrendous rishtas and thus the horror wedding stories.

So do boy’s parents (although personally, I do not believe that Marriage is anything more than a Sunnah; most people believe otherwise) but they aren’t so obsessed. What gives?

Second, why don’t daughters complain? Or are these above mentioned idiot relatives more important to the parents than their own daughters? If this is the case, then these hypothetical parents are an insult to parenthood.
