Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

And care to mention who is “responsible” for the mess in Iraq since you like to investigate the root causes of the world’s problems?

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

I believe the masses are being told thse days that it is Iran. Listen to the sheep, they are braying I-raaan, I-raaaan.

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Sure. Iran has the same maslak as the "purported" al qaeda!

All the freedom demoratsy goes to hell! I wonder why isn't the "free" US media chanting impeachment for Bush when the republicans could chant impeachment for billy for playing with cigars with lewinsky, a not so taboo thin in the US!

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Nahi, bhai you are mistaken. Sex is a much bigger tabboo in the US vs. violence or war. Remember Janet Jackson superbowl malfunction?

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Well gosh, I'm not sure? I would blame those who finance, support, and carry out the killings in Iraq ie: the insurgents/militants/"freedom fighters"/terrorists but go on tell me who is really to blame for the killings.

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

The guys with the guns, tanks and helicopters? Or our pals the Saudis?

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

The guys with the tanks and helicopters do not benefit with an unstable Iraq. A productive and stable Iraq would benefit them greatly be it from trade deals, increased oil production, countering and balancing power in the region, and increasing their influence throughout the region via positive means. Unfortunately you have those who hate the U.S. more than they care about Iraqis and will do anything to disrupt Iraqs successful.

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Then maybe they should leave. If memory serves me correct, Iraq was pretty stable before the US invaded.

[/QUOTE]

Yes, but those who hate the U.S. such as the Saudis are our "allies", who support the insurgency. So what do we do here? We don't want to be mean to the Saudis while we're begging them to cut back on oil prices.

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Unfortunately the time machine is in the shop so we can't go back when Iraq was stable under Saddam (but still dangerous). I do agree that the U.S. needs to drawback and allow Iraqis to become the major player in securing security and from there have an ongoing assessment of the situation and take action based on what occurs.

No easy answers. Pressure needs to be applied to fight against terror and rewards and support be given to those who are committed to fight terror on a real level and not to those who just put up a anti-terror facade. In addition major resources need to be committed towards making the country energy independent, that needs to be a top priority.

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

With the impending recession in the US, where will the funds come from? I doubt the demoRats will be willing to spend that much in Iraq even if they don't get their own president in November...

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

How much oil is being "exported" by Iraq to US?

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Half a millon b/per day. Iraq pumps out a little less than 2.5 million b/per day, prewar they were pumping out 2.6 million b/ per day. Right before the war U.S. was importing about 1 million b/ per day from Iraq.

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

bloody thieves.

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

Why was he dangerous? WMDs? 9/11? Osama?

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

^ Wouldn't let inspectors do their jobs and had a desire to return to a WMD program one day. Nothing to do with 9/11 and could have been helpful against al Qaeda.

Bought and paid for Ma Moo.

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

oh really? that'd be a first

Re: Women torture and killed in the name of Islam

How about murder of the Marsh Arabs, Political Opponents, Kurds, Shia? Dangerous? Beyond WMD, OBL and 9/11, Saddam had probably killed between 400k and 700k Iraqis. Never mind the slaughter of the Kuwaitis, and a war with Iran. He was Very Dangerous. If the world had any balls, he should have been indicted for genocide and tried at the Hague.

But, Russia and China largely prevented that from happening. But, what the heck, let's forget about Saddam because he died like such a pathetic loser. Let's repaint history as if all those Muslims he killed didn't matter.

Don't look now, but Al Qaedda is running form Iraq, and the Iraqis are seizing the moment to bring peace and a chance at prosperity to Iraq. Five years late, but for the first time in a long time there is legitimate hope. Pretty funnny huh?

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

Dangerous to his own people, of whom I could care less for. How was he dangerous to me and my family in suburban America?

Re: Whos responsible for the mess in Iraq? [split: Women torture and killed... ]

ya but lets not forget he was your best friend when you needed him....
