When I was a kid, I was scared of my mom so much... always used to take refuge in abba jaan's goud.
Mom seemed so strict back then, but things started changing after 15 and now none of them seem any strict but always looking for my suggestions, point of views, even asking me what should be done in such and such conditions...
It seems weird but I still do not think they have changed. We, as children, change from one phase to another, which changes our perspective about them and we feel as if they have changed.

its hard to say..
mum was the day to day discipliniarian. dad was pretty laid back
but when dad said no...that was it, he was strict on bigger stuff.

Wow, it looks like i'm in the minority with dad as disciplinarian. My mom also was day-to-day but her most effective discipline was "I'm going to tell/call your father" lol.
I'm mostly the disciplinarian with my boyz but thats cause of hubby's long work hours. He too has much more impact than I do.

yaar tumhari valida majida bohot simple theen..humari ammi nay toh kung fu ka koi naya style invent kar liya tha..chapal, jootay, hangers, haath kay pankhay. unhon nay bhi teaching mein ja kar talent waste kiya..should have been some police interrogator..
abbu never had to use an object, i think he had some kind of jedi mind trick, that certain look of disapproval, or one word would have us freeze in our tracks..

My mom used to belive in us not only getting the thappar/chappal but receiving that willingfuly
Once she threw a joota at me , that I dodged, and jootah hit the mirror behind me and broke it, imagine her anger 
Got the beating twice, one for original mistake and second for breaking the mirror

anyways I won the day that I realized that I could run faster than her and unlike her crawl under beds, tables, run over couches, chairs and evade her successfully..:D
