Again for some people its all about defending their favorite dictator
Oh by the way, the retarded General has now begun to admit blame for messing up in Swat, he did so in his first stint to make money at that stupid speaking tour of his. He has also admitted Lal Masjid was a blunder. What do you supporters have to say now?
Yar what Lal Masjid has to do with Whore of swat & Musharraf speeches? start a separate thread for that.
Now on topic, we already argue on Musharraf wrong doings in Swat… just reminding and giving you facts that Swat problem is not new and its not completely Musharraf fault… for more proof please read today’s “Jang editorial” Jang Group Online
'vat the jang article has to do with taapic then'... I mentioned Lal masjid because along with Swat, hes already admitted that was one of his biggest blunders in power. Now please fax a copy of this article to him because he seems to have admitted it was his blunder, in his rather sorry apologetic speech.

The editorial clearly pointed out the previous governments policy towards extremists/talibans.
[note] No need to get personal stay on topic[/note]
i have no idea whats gone wrong.....the opposition promised change for the better if elected and all the problems will disappear...what i dont understand is....why have things got worse?
swat has never been as bad as it is right now. even under musharf it was so much better.......he is out f the army and presidency....so why things just get worse? he has no kursi to keep....so for what reason wil things deteriorate now? swat is not exactly anywhere near afghanistan for weapons to be smuggled easily and it has no border with a tribal belt...
why is this PRESENT government failing? are zardari, gilani, asfandyar walikhan and gen kiani wanting more americna funding and want to keep their kursi?
i know problems are from the previous the government and even go back to the 1990's but what has happened over the last 6 months has been a totally uncontrollable slide into caveman times....
they are closing shcools NOW...not a year ago...
a problem does not get solved by blaming someone.....it only gets solved when the different stakeholders get together and agree a plan....and stick to it......if the government is not that serious in solving the issue then they should ask the army to withdraw and make it autonomous..
Then great Altaf Hussain and his supporters must be pure Syeds too. Provincially balanced LOL! Civil wars in Baluchistan, NWFP, very balanced indeed.

:CareBear: I just love it how people forget Musharraf's 9 years of incompetence and focus on Zardari's 9 months.

You might have great expectations from Zardari, Altaf and Asfandyar, I dont. Also, are you forgetting the NRO and who was behind it, or do we blame the 90s for that too?

Yep, the 9 years of Musharrafs incompetency is all because of the 1990s Govts, but the last nine months of the Zardari Govt is no ones fault. Brilliant.

We are not here to solve problems on GS nor are we policy makers, we are here to talk about them, and to talk about them, we first need to call a spade, a spade. No need to blow your fuse if people start pointing fingers at the person who caused this problem in the first place.
from 1999-to early 2007 there was alot of stability and some growth in some areas.....whether you accept that or not its your choice....he at least dug pakistan out of the hole nawaz sharif landed them in (although the end of his tenure he put pakistan back in another hole) ...the diff between 1999 and 2008 is that in 1999 things improved.....
some mistakes are purely mush's fault....we are talking of swat....had we been talking about the may 12 2007 in karachi..that was something you could pin on musharaf and his government (although the oppositioin went armed to the teeth for whatever reason)...but being the government that issue could have been avoided...just as lal masjid could have been....
i know you dont expect much from zardari, asfandyar (funnily enough i did not mention altaf but had had to pop up lol) ....your hopes are pinned on nawaz sharif....
im glad you finally get my point that leaders inherit problems from previous governments....
going back to swat....answer one question of mine.....why on earth did nt the militants take over Dir or Buner?

So joke, since this is the second time you have made the absurd assumption, where did I pin my hopes on Nawaz Sharif to solve the Swat problem? Now unless you can back that up, we can just assume you are once again imagining things out of no where. I didnt even talk about who or what to do to solve the Swat problem yet.
And yes, ofcourse you left altaf out. usually ppl who support him tend to forget hes very much part of the trio thats ruling Pakistan right now. Its zardari, altaf and wali, all bhai bhai now. You gotta name all three when you mention their collective mess.
But I do admit his 9 years on the whole was incompetency, and correction it was more like 2006. It was actually after 2002 that I began to be wary of him, especially when he let go of genuine people to become an associate of known lotas, crooks and murderers. Also, those jumping out of their pants everytime his name is linked to the Swat mess, did you guys bother to read the article, and the last para.

^ Article is only repeating info most of us are already aware of in terms of aali-jaah Musharraf's deeds.
Us, does not include musharraf's blind supporters. They seem to leave that part out even when translating that article. I mean if one is having such immense mental orgasms based on this article, why chose to ignore the last part of the para where the same person gives reasons as to why this movement in Swat erupted, and who nurtured it and let the monster out.
