The pro-Ayub view is because it’s been downhill ever since. His rule was the last time the economy was healthy, religious tensions absent, the country not beset by separatist movements anywhere.

When he ordered hanging of Maulana Maududi in 1958, created false agar tala case against Shaikh Mujib which paved way for break up, started meaningless war of 1965 which brought the country’s economy down the gutter during peak of his rule, rigged 1964 elections, most probably involved in poisoning Fatima Jinah to death, last but not the least he was father founder of corrupting military and bureaucracy of Pakistan.
