Why do people like Ayub Khan? He was the one who started the tension in East Pakistan. He was the one who killed hundreds in a day because they were from a specific ethnic group who supported democracy and Fatima Jinnah. He gave many businesses to a specific ethnic group, now that ethnic group runs those businesses as a mafia and have a monopoly over it. He possessed extreme hatred for Quaid e Azam, so much that he hated the city Quaid was from and left Quaid’s tomb unfinished.
Yahya Khan later came in and finished the tomb on a fast track basis.

Only good thing I like about Ayub is that he was a secular guy.

The pro-Ayub view is because it’s been downhill ever since. His rule was the last time the economy was healthy, religious tensions absent, the country not beset by separatist movements anywhere.
