Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

Why doesn't PCB think along the lines of having one main Pakistani coach such Aaqib, and then use a fielding coach such as Jhonty, a batting and wicket keeping coach such as Rashid, a fast bowling coach, and a spin bowling coach.
Why think we need one Head coach and an assitant?

MYSELF:D

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

I think Pakistan team needs a military instructor to discipline them and keep them fit. Technically, I don't see any improvement in any Pakistani player due to Woolmer presence. Big problem in Pakistani team is discipline and fitness, so a Military General will do the job better especially if he gets full backing of Musharaf.

With Pakistani origin coach, there is no discipline since players go to the point of revolt against a coach, and with a foreigner as a coach, there is a lack of communication and heavy cost. Therefore, lets try it with a military general as team coach and manager, and keep four coaches at the NCA as Aaqib for fast bowling, Miandad as batting, Mushtaq as spinners, and someone (hard to find a good fielder) as a fielding coach.

^ lets send a petition to Musharraf to become the teams coach as well. Captain1 no comments from you please. :D

One name; Miandad. That Pepsi ad should be played every hour during the world cup; the boys can use all the motivation they get.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

So then the boyz will be watching the ad and not playing cricket?

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan’s coach if Woolmer leaves?

Yes. If you have seen the ad, you shall agree wholeheartedly.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

mian...i think almost anyone who watches cricket vids on the net has seen it.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

Pakistani team without a coach would do much better. Benefits of not having a coach would be
1. It would save PCB money
2. It would stop people from blaming the coach and actually start to blame the ones responsible.
3. It would give a sigh of relief to Javed Miandad perhaps momentarily as its he now thinks he was meant to be the coach of Pakistan.
4. Someone like Watmore, Moody, Woolmer etc would not be wasted and perhaps some other team WILLING to benefit could make better use of the person.
5. Would help the moderators of gupshup as fewer woolmer bashing threads would be opened.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

Yes not a bad idea and thought.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

With present team, good and valid points.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

It would take great deal of effort to persuade some high calibre coaches to become Pakistan coach and certainly they will no be cheap either. The current lot don't need coaching as they would just do what they feel like and what the dopey tells them.

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

My choices, in the order of preferance.

1) Chacha Cricket. This way he wouldnt have to spend his own money to go on tours.

2) Zahid Fazal. Hey he top scored when Pakistan made their lowest ODI total.

3) Ata-ur-Rahman. If you're not living on the edge, you're taking too much space. Give Ata a chance.

4) Javed Miandad. No good reason to make him a coach again except for cause he really really wans to -----

Re: Who would you like to see as Pakistan's coach if Woolmer leaves?

^ how about Saleem Malik? He might be in need of more fixings :D
