I agree that WI is almost going the same way as Pakistan team has been doing i.e. good in ODIs and mediocre in Tests and also WI does pose some challenge to Pakistan in ODIs. This series will be a good competition if umpires don't participate in it :D

22 Sep 2004 ICC Semi final: WI beat paki by 7 wickets. Pakistan 131 allout (38 overs), WI 139-3 (28 overs)
19 Jan 2005: Paki beat WIN by 6 wickets. WI 273-5, Pak 274-4 (47 overs)
28 Jan 2005: WI beat Paki by 58 runs. WI 339-4, paki 281-9 (50 overs)
1 Feb 2005: Paki beat WI by 30 runs: Pak 307-8, WI 277 all out (48).
Is this record not good enough to tell what they have acccomplished against us recently and is this record not good enough to predct that althouth they are unpredictable but there could be an evenly matched competition in the ODI's.

Thankyou for acknowledging. I know that there will be nuetral unpires in test but don’t know if they will keep 1 local umpire in ODI’s or not. I hope they don’t otherwise it will be paki 11 versus WI 12.

If ICC Ranking is any yardstick of competition, India is # 3 in Test, Pakistan # 4 while WI is # 8... whereas in ODIs India is # 8, Pakistan # 4 and WI # 6.
So from the rankings point of view, Pakistan has levelled Test series with #3 nation while won the ODI series 4-2 against # 8.... Its "very likely" Pakistan will win Test series relatively easily (compared with ODI series).

hmmmmmmmmmm.. so WI has a chance in ODIs. I thought they were good players in test. Because in Pakistan team.. has their vice-captain who could build a long innings. Yes ofcouse yohanna and capitan are also capable..but they dont stand for long time. I think it all depends on tiring out the bowlers.

Any team has a chance in a one day match. A single player can take the match away from the opponent in 5 overs. Thats the beauty of it. You just hope that your team comes in with an all-round performance to either defend their total, or go about chasing the target in a professional manner.

*The West Indian team has Lara and Gayle in it, so I wouldn't write them off completely. I still think Pakistan would beat them though. Don't even mention the ICC Champions Trophy Semi final; if only Inzi had used his head and bowled first, we would have won that match. The conditions were horrible batting first. *
