Who will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan? (requested by 2bornot2b)

  1. Qazi Hussain Ahmed

  2. Makhdoom Amin Fahim

  3. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain

  4. Zubeda Jalal

  5. Zafarullah Khan Jamali

  6. Khurshid Kasuri

  7. Farooq Leghari

  8. Maulana Fazlur Rehman

  9. Other

Can't say.

It depends on secret ballots ;)

Q. Who will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan?

Are you asking whom we want to see as the Prime Minister or who we think will ultimately be successful in forming the government?

If its, whom I will like to see as PM, then its #4, but looking at the political landscape developing, the one whom I suspect will eventually clinch the slot is #8. Tau kiss pe click karooN?

That's my feeling! But MMA would never go for it. Believe me!

What way? For example?

She’s 42, still unmarried, devoted her life for education.

are women allowed to lead?????????
are women allowed to lead the prayer??????

i dont know how pakistanis voted for benazir bhutto, this goes against all islamic principles.

was there a woman prophet?

was aisha(ra) a khalifah? would she have been allowed. no

the woman can contribute by being ministers for womens affairs, for anything else, but not lead a country. there is a clear reason, because allah has made in man aggression, less compromise, less sensitivity than women. women NATURALLY will cry more, will feel sad more, their judgements will be affected due to their sensitivity.

hmm.. majority of voters in this elections voted for PPP .. and have done that before too! so that makes Pakistanis as non-muslims! Bangla desh also have elected woman as their head of State many times.. and Bengalis are great muslims too.. an dhow did u guessed Hazrat Aysha (R.A) had not been allowed.. I guess ur greatly inspired by Saudia Govt's views of Islam.. about ur precisely mandating qualities in men and woman they vary widely.. look how ur crying seeing a woman as leading Pakistan!

PPP supporter voted just because BB is a daughter of ZAB.

I think Farooq Leghari may eventually become the next Prime Minister but it would be nice if Zubeda Jalal was selected.

It would be great if Mrs Zubeda Jalal became Prime Minister, and she may yet be? :) I don't even mind Makhdoom becoming PM, as he seems quite a sensible fellow, and Jamali I don't know much about, but I guess the MMA would be pleased by the fact that he has quite a strapping beard;). As for Fazlur Rehman as PM - no comment. But even though the three parties have in effect nominated their candidates for PM - Jamali for the PML-QA, Makhdoom for the PPPP and Rehman for the MMA, that does not mean that any of them will necassarily become the Prime Minister. They may just be "stalking horses", in place for other candidates to come forward nearer the time. In fact the Prime Minister may? not even be from any of these three parties?

If the government agressively pushes the idea of a 'National Government' of the three parties, or even a coalition of the PML-QA with the MMA or PPPP, then a "consensus candidate" would most possibly become Prime Minister. That person is quite likely to be former President Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari, who has all the necessary attributes for the job - more than any of the official candidtates anyway. Although he is from Punjab province, he is a prominent Balochi sardar, with a Pashtun mother, and speaks all the provincial langauges of Pakistan - Balochi, Pashto, Sindhi, Punjabi, Seraiki, Urdu and of course English. He was a long time PPP member, who only broke with them after 1996, but still has considerable respect and influence with his former party men. Most importantly he has vast political and governmental experience, most notably as President of Pakistan for over four years between 1993 and 1997. To cap it off he is a close confidant of President Musharraf, and has been one of his leading supporters since 1999. :)

Who knows...?

I'd love to see MMA to support Zubaida Jalal but it is much difficult for them because thay already have made so many statements which are contradicting to their own previous ones. So expecting an other contradiction is hopefull but however, difficult.

** As stated before, that is not relevant to this poll thread. Open a separate thread in the appropriate forum to dicuss it if you want**

.. we r talking about Pakistan where Constitution of Pakistan specifically states male nad female can be head of State and all laws od country ahave to be according to Quran and Sunnah.. u could had tried ur luck in that dandastan of Afghanistan where jahil Talibans closed all women schools .. may be Musharaf would had tried this trick and not ordering that comic clause of no third time head od state ordinance !
