..and cleaning etc? The man comes back from working or the housewife?
Re: Who should do the cooking?
It normally is the wife HOWEVER, an understanding husband should not have high expectations that the wife is there ONLY to cook and clean. If he is a loving husband and the wife is not having a good day, he should not feel bad about helping his wife out here and there.
Just because a wife is at home, it does not mean that she has nothing to do, especially if there are little ones to take care of.
Roles and responsibilities should never be written in stone for each person. Instead, the couple should work as a team together to get things done, even if this means doing someone elses 'chores' sometimes.
Re: Who should do the cooking?
^ reasonable reply. thanks.
Re: Who should do the cooking?
there is already a thread like this, well kinda http://www.paklinks.com/gs/life-relationships/324094-work-after-marriage.html

i want those 50/50 coookie from pakiland, its been over 10 years since i ate them!:hinna:
Re: Who should do the cooking?
Since they both have full time jobs (housewife =full time job) i feel that mostly the wife should/could do that stuff since it'll be slightly easier for her, seeing as how shes at home..however...a truly understanding hubby will pitch in often. not now and then, but OFTEN. its all about teamwork. divide and conquer. split things up so not one person feels the booj (weight) of anything...
VERYY good answer! ![]()

I dont agree with "often". Maybe every now and then. Man has to work at the office as well. Would the wife also "often" help her husband with office work? SPlit things up? again will wife split up hubbys office work?
Re: Who should do the cooking?
I said it before in the other thread, that men underestimate housework! Its way harder then sitting in a office on your butt! I bet if we make guys do house cleaning/cook/kids/and whatever else, they'll give up within an hour!

well i didnt go thru ur other thread..but housework is harder than office work? haha..i dont even know how to respond to that..but short answer is HELL no..working 50-60 hrs in the office is much much much harder than micrwaving food..

i agree!!! office work, though stressful, is less physically tiring. with housework your on your feet ALL DAY up and down, here and there. cleaning, dusting, bending, chopping, mixing, tidying up..etc etc....
Gaia: my mom once let my dad take over for the day when i was younger...she came home to a disaster sight!!! men cant take care of the housework if there life depended on it! heheheheh. they really truly underestimate it.

haha, thanks! that really made me laught out all loud. Yes, there is a lot of effort in "love and care" that goes into cooking. haha.Ok. Be that as may.
I want to get some men's opinion on this. Ofcourse you ladies are going to be biased. You want men to work in the office come back and "split up" the cooking as well. Yeah sure.
seriously dude…if you think a housewife’s entire day consists of taking the food out of the freezer and microwaving it…then u have ALOT to learn. oh my…and its not even like were biased. its just obvious that you really dont know what your talking about when you talk about housework. …yea, i wanna hear some men’s opinions too. but not the ignorant ones. i wanna hear from those whose mommy’s actually made them do a little housework here and there who know what theyre up against. ![]()
right..so just like “microwaving food” is an oversimplification of a housewife’s work, a man does a lot more in the office than just sit and stare at the computer screen..
See its men like you who do not appreciate and understand how much goes into cleaning/cooking and soo on. You think that women can do these things in an hour and sit back down for the rest of the day.. Reality check boyy, thats not how it works, while you sit in your office the wife is on her feet almost all day. And when she said putting "love and care" into food, well i hope one day you realize what food tastes like without love and care.
I'm not asking for my hubby to clean the floor and mop the bathroom, but maybe after dinner help me put away stuff and just clean up a little, nothing big! And when your both working then of course it should be 60/40ishh, and i only changed my mind from 50/50 because i forgot men can't do any house related things right and keep on making mistakes!
You can say a lot but FOR THE LIFE OF YOU, NEVER NEVER underappreciate your wife, because last time i checked you both work equally as hard as one another to make a house work from the inside to the outside!
And who ever can cook the best, should stick to the cooking!
Re: Who should do the cooking?
Whoever can ... cook.
Re: Who should do the cooking?
What I don't understand is how can cooking and cleaning (which are absolute necessary and basic, unavoidable everyday deeds) get compared to career aspirations, jobs and workplaces that are so deviant from one another.
Personally, I'd like my man to give his career 100% and not the dishes.
Re: Who should do the cooking?
Him just standing next to me while i do dishes, is helping out *(atleast thats how i am). :)

LOL. okay then.

No, I never underestimated the work a housewife does. I'm just saying that man takes care of business outside the home, and the women does it inside. The man also puts a lot of "love and care" in his work as well. 60/40? really, can the wife then type out work reports for hubby? Woman should also be ready to split up hubbys office work. Now as to standing up or sitting, I mean seriously, thats a big deal? Are you old enough that you cant even stand to cook? The more I discuss this, the more absurd this gets. I mean I can udnersatnd if the work is truly physical, maybe like loading trucks, but just standing and cooking does not strike me as overly physical. And the men have to deal with a lot of stress, mental exhaustion. Sure we "don't stand up" haha often but believe me its taxing.
