Who knows your deepest, darkest secrets?

  • a parent?
  • a sibling?
  • spouse?
  • a friend (if so, how did you meet this person; in what context have you made this friendship and how does that influence your willingness to share?)
  • random/anonymous members of an online community (like GS or blog readers, etc)
  • no one. i don’t share those secrets with anyone.

And what led you to share secrets? Was it kind of accidental? Or on purpose? Was it out of trust? Obligation? Fear? A desire to connect?

Anonymous online members may know some secrets but surely not the deepest darkest ones.
I might have shared it at times when I needed to talk it out or such other situations.And ofcourse there has to be trust too & the fact that they are online members even if they decide to turn over they cant hurt me or my family in real life.

Online members know my deepest thoughts.

I have one friend who knows my deepest darkest secrets but these are not all 'bad' things some of them are weird or odd things about me, some of these are good things.

I have known this friend since I was 4 years old, she is like my big sister ( 1 year older)..I dont have a sister of my own so we discuss all sorts of minor random things too.

Parents know ALOT about me I find it very hard to hide things. I have issues with hiding things about myself. If i have done something wrong I go running to mum and dad for advice.

My dad surprises me every time - when I was having issues with some lamo guy at uni thought my dad would disown me - but he gave me the best advise ever about not putting anyone on a pedestal and being a strong level headed woman - along with a firm warning about the limits in islam and culture.

oh yes allhumdullah i share everything wth my huby though i dont know y ppl around me say dont share everthing even my MIL say beta mard ko sub khuch nhi btatay, but still i cant i share everything wth both of them mum n huby :slight_smile:

secret is supposed to be a secret...not to be told to anyone. if you can't keep the secret, why in the world would you expect the other person to keep it to himself/herself? no, i strictly keep it to myself.

my father wrote this she'r in this regard and i practice it:

My husband and mum knows almost all my dark deepest secrets, and the ones I can't tell my husband and mum, my twin brother know them, he's my best friend. :)

no one, i'd like to keep things to myself...but when i do want to share some 'secrets' i turn to my sister ONLY.

Actually that's not true, I tell all my secrets to the hole in the wall.

I write alot of private/secret stuff in blogs, that I expect those who read it to keep it a secret..... but there are things I will never tell a soul. buss.
