USA is interested in this region because of Qaeda/Taleban, not because they want to disintegrate Pak. They understand it is too risky, and that they don't have enough political will and money to achieve.
Destruction of Pak is not possible without Army's agreement, and Army will not let go of a country which is making their pockets full.
