Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
IK should not have come to politics. He has not shown any maturity either.
If any politician follows Jinnah, that politician will not be able to stay longer because of complex and corrupt political system. There are forces which do not want to see political system florish in Pakistan. Staying in politics needs support from many sources...Poor Awam can not provide that.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Maybe we need a western educated President/Prime Minister of Pakistani descent. However, convincing the stupid population would be problematic. The awaam deserve what they get its because of them they voted in a gaddah.

Med911:
Pakistan went to sit in Saudi lap when there were plenty of friends around it. So this excuse is not worthy.
I wonder why this is true only in the case of Saudi terror-ful aid to Pakistan, and why it is not true in case of America. You just approved Imran Khan for his anti-American politics. How are beggars the choosers in that case?
Its not surprising the they started courting the Saudis early. You also have to take into account the fact that the Saudis have oil. If you are young country looking for resources, an oil rich country is a country you will want to befriend. Considering you have an enemy is big as India on you border, fighting whom will require a substantial amount of this very strategic resource, means getting in bed with some very shady characters. And we know for a fact that one of the weaknesses of Pakistan in war time has been its strategic oil supply, so not surprising.
It was serendipitous that the Saudis were Muslim as far as the Pakistanis were concerned.
So whatever the motives have been in the past or present, I think Pakistan had to make friends with the likes of Saudis with all the baggage the came with.
And I dont like the Saudis either. Im just saying that Pakistan really has a begging bowl out. It simply cant ignore these powerful influences because it cant afford to, regardless of how much we hate it.

Western education all the way. Keep your inshallahs to yourself.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Interesting to note that amongst three pages only 1 person has named Benazir Bhutto. Even then its a wadera :p
As for my vote? It doesn't matter. Time to stop living in the past and dreams.
She was a great leader in the sense that she could move Millions to support her. But beyond that, her rule proved to be less inspiring. Not all great leaders make great rulers.

That is why I am so hesitant to support Nawaz Sharif. Like Zia he is someone who can be easily persuaded and manipulated by mullahs to insert unnecessary religious clauses left and right in the constitution. The blasphemy law for instance was promulgated by Zia but it was made even harsher by Nawaz Sharif in 1992… and we are all reaping the benefits now!!
Many religious extremists are activists of the PML-N, therefore, we fear the Punjab government will get Aasia killed in jail through these activists: Christians’ representative Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra
Although I support Imran Khan, the harsh reality is, if elections were held today one would have to again choose between the lesser of the two corrupt parties PML-N and PPP
