Fatima Jinnah, who was maliciously beaten by Ayyub Khan.
Huseyn Shaheed Suharwardy, the leader from Bengal who was also disqualified by Ayyub Khan.
Those were the people who inherited QA's vision. And they were all taken out one after another by landlords and co.
Zia's rule was the horrible nightmare, the cost of which Pakistan is still paying today. He brought Saudis in Pakistan.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
QUAID E AZAM MOHAMMAD ALI JINNAH!
And the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto!
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
If I was in Pakistan I would hear what a party leaders has to say about their party mandate, agendas, election promises & pledges covering Foreign policies and Homeland Security.
How transparent their audits to "Election Commission’ have been etc.
I would also check moral reputation of the Party & the Leader.
Only then they have my vote.
Idolism should be Haram and what ^ all these ‘preferred personalities’ ^ dead or alive are gone, and have served their purposes hence it is time to MOVE FORWARD with new and inspiring generation

Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
After Jinnah, they pretty much all sucked.
Ayub Khan and Musharaf had their moments though.
The only one with a reasonable amount of credibility now is Imran Khan, if only because he is the only one who hasn't bent over backwards to please Americans. At least according to Wikieaks.
After giving it some thought, I realized its so because he has zero clout and has never done anything of political importance in the history of Pakistan or any where on earth. Possibly why no one takes him seriously. Not even wikileaks! :P

Its also possibly why he has never been in the seat of power.
Its a question of the chicken or the egg here. Does he have zero clout because he sticks to his principles, or does he simply stick to his principles because he has zero clout?
Hard to say, but if Wikileaks is to be believed, it seems even the lowliest of govt functionaries is willing to sell his soul at the US alter for the chance at the top seat, even if their deluding themselves in the process.
So the fact that Imran Khan hasnt done so means he's either extremely principled, or intelligent enough to not delude himself into thinking he can gain power through the US.

Quaid e Azam for sure

I see your point. two things though:
if the reasoning is that his strategy of not selling out has kept him out of corruption, henceforth gaining him a purity status, thus enabling him a potentially viable leader....then by that definition, i'd rather choose mr. mustafa kamal. He's run a city, larger in population then many countries. He played the gig in the real-est of the cities, and kept a straight face. I really hope to see him in the future.
secondly, mr imran khan is sympathetic to the sunni extremists/wahabis/etc, much like mr. sharif, which scares me and makes me nervous at the thought. Potential Zia-esque visions I see when I think about mr. khan in power.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Jinnah, Liaqat Ali Khan and now Pervez Musharraf.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Jinnah and ZAB.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Sharmila Farooqi
Kashmala Tariq
Fatima Bhutto
:)

If just not bending backward is the criterion for the credibility of a politician then why not go along with likes of OBL, Taliban, Jamaat e Islami?!
But he has bent so much in front of Taliban so much that even after they declared war on Pakistani people, he STILL wants to negotiate with them.
Talking of bending backwards, I do hope to see Pakistanis showing similar sentiments about Saudi interference in Pakistan as they show about Americans. Saudis have completely destroyed Pakistani society, and have sent future of Pakistani children down the drain.

Thats the only reason I dont support Imran Khan outright. He does seem to be in denial over the whole Taliban issue and other extremists in the country. He is obviously not a supporter of extremism, but his approach to dealing with the issue seems naive.

Not while the Pakistanis remain a basket case. Unless Pakistan fixes itself, it will have to rely on the money doled out by the likes of the Saudis... Begger's cant be choosers you know. Of course, at least in the case of the Americans, politicians try to portray a pretense of being independent. Before the Saudis they just grovel like sniveling little love struck debutantes.
Rather sickening to watch really.

At what cost? They have DESTROYED not just Pakistan but also Pakistani society and the future of its generation.
They have made many Pakistanis a perfect clone of their intolerant selves.

Yeah, but with friends drying up fast, and Pakistans piggy bank getting lighter by the day, how else is Pakistan to stay afloat? This is why things like the RGST are so important.
Begger's really cant be choosers is literally true in this case. Money = Power, and so Saudis are Pakistans best friend.
You know some of these politicians would sell their children if they had to, whats Pakistani izuth worth to them?

Pakistan went to sit in Saudi lap when there were plenty of friends around it. So this excuse is not worthy.

I wonder why this is true only in the case of Saudi terror-ful aid to Pakistan, and why it is not true in case of America. You just approved Imran Khan for his anti-American politics. How are beggars the choosers in that case?

Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
In terms of credible politicians I would say Imran Khan however I doubt he would ever win. So, let's say nobody at the moment.
Re: Who Is (Was)Your Most Preferred Leader ..A Question To All Pakistanis
Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
and now
Imran Khan
