I saw a debate about Pakistan bowlers on the other page so i thought i’d add a thread.
So who is Pakistan’s best bowler?
Wasim
Waqar
Shoaib
Imran Khan
Sarfraz Nawaz
Fazal Mahmood
and for the spinners
Abdul Qadir
Saqlain
Iqbal Qasim

For spinner i forgot Mushtaq Ahmed.
My votes will go for
Best fast bowler
Wasim Akram
Best Spin Bowler
Saqlain Mushtaq
For the best bowler of all time, it has to be Wasim Akram without a doubt, there is no bowler, Lilee, Garner or anyone can come close to his high times.
I think 2nd would be Waqar, the guy would have done so much if he had played same amount of cricket as wasim.
Sarfraz and Fazal were also greas at their time, actually Sarfraz was the first ever to introduce reverse swing bowling, I don't if this true, someone double check for me.
Wasim is the best fast bowler. Period. (Not the best left armer. Not the best Pakistani. Not the best contemporary.) The best ever!
Saqlain is probably our best spinner. I hope he gets confidence and form back. We need him/
Yeah its really hard to pick the top spinners because all of them were great at their time, Qadir was brilliant in mid 80s, Mushtaq was brilliant in the early 90s and Saqlain was brilliant in mid 90s and lost his form currently.
Only if Kumble and Harbajhan were the other 2 bowlers, I would definatley pick the 3rd one.
No offense guys, but it amazes me how no one
picked Imran Khan as the best bowler Pakistan ever produced.
Wasim is a great bowler and has more impressive stats than Imran now. But, in my opinion, The Great Khan is still the best.
Oh and yes, Sarfraz was the pioneer of reverse swing. He taught it to Imran who in turn taught the technique to Wasim..and Waqar.

without a doubt wasim and qadir
Wasim Akram no question about that. The best ever fast bowler the world has seen in my opinion.

How would you pick 3rd bowler if you’ve given two choices?

If Imran did not had that accident which led him to stay away from cricket for a year or so I am sure he would have broke Richard Hadle(y) what ever the spellings are.
My list
Imran Khan
Waseem Akram
Waqar Younis
I dont think you can do an honest comparison of todays bowlers (Waqar, Wasim, Shoaib) to those from the past, even 20 years ago, like Imran or Sarfraz.
Players today have access to state of the art diets, exercise equipment, physiotherapy sessions, and what not. Their calorie counts are monitored, fat percentage is maintained...all that jazz. Players 20 years ago relied on themselves alone to stay in shape. I feel Imran Khan, Sarfraz, and otehrs from the days gone by were way better on a proportional level. Lets have todays bowlers go through the same conditions as those, and we will have a fair comparison.
Believe me if today's players went through their calories monitored and all that mumbo jumbo, Arjun Ranatunga would have never played cricket.

COMEOOOOOOOON
I remember once I was watching PAK vs don’t remember the other team and Tony Greg did a comparison of Waqar and Vass (SL) of their action, runup and etc. He said it seems like Vass had been watching Waqar or following Waqar foot steps cuz their runup, action and etc look very similar.

Q yaara, there are many bowlers who copy Waqar. Gough for one has openly admitted so as has Shoaib. BTW, wonderful pictures!
I read something very interesting some time ago so I’d thought I’d share. In Wasim’s autobriography, Wasim devoted quite a bit of time to the World Cup triumph. He even went into the political dynamics active in the team and how all was not well with the team’s morale. But then when Pakistan reached towards the end, suddenly things were looking up not just on the field but morale-wise too. So, after the team got into the semis, the boys had a night out, went out in the city, had some fun. At that point, Wasim was so confident of a Pakistan victory that he predicted a Pakistan victory in the finals. He wrote it down on a piece of paper borrowed from the cab driver they were riding with. He signed and dated it, and he gave it prediction to the cabbie.
I wonder if that guy has it, I’d like to buy it.
If he has it he probably will save it for few more years so that he gets more bider

Thanx for sharing.
